Have you ever encountered an anime-hater? Some of my friends HATE it, or simply do not appreciate it. I usually defend anime and sometimes even create arguments about it. I always say "What's not to like?" Honestly, they offer great characters and creative stories. Is it because they're animated? Hell, some haters watch Simpsons or Family Guy, whereas in my opinion, some animes are much more humourous and overall better in presentation. Also, what do the non-anime people tell you? I've heard many poor arguments against anime, such as they're simply "stupid," or too "childish" They don't know anything man! It seems they don't understand the depth and the artistic value of some truly great stories ever presented by the human race.

Most people i've meet that don't like anime simply do no understand it, they think it's like kids cartoons and have no depth, and the such, we should educate them!

people make fun of me all the time for liking anime i hate it but i know a lot of people that like anime also so its cool

I will hear their supports for their opinions and if it is some stereotypes of anime then I will try to present the facts. If they haven't seen any anime then I will suggest some with what they like. If they have seen it, then it's a preference and I let them be.
If it is somebody that does not provide supports for their opinions, I will generally asked them to do that. [I did not lock that thread since I was waiting for a response but he most likely was not going to provide one so another mod locked it.] If they don't provide some support, then I just ignore them. If they do provide support, then we go back to the top.

I ussually ask why and listen, then I'll nod and say "yeah I can see that" and change the subject to something we can mutually discuss. And there is a huge difference between a "hater" and "someone who does not appreciate it" Either way, different people have different interests. I don't much care for traditional minstrel music or WWE Raw if someone were to tell me I'm ignorant for not appreciating this stuff or spend ages trying to explain why I should partake in these little frivolities, I'd probably stop talking to them. If someone does not like something, let them not like it. It is just as impolite to judge someone for not liking something as it is to judge someone for being into something. In short, be careful you aren't doing the exact same thing that someone who might call you an "anime geek" is doing, only in reverse (i.e. calling them "ignorant" or "uncultured")
