Ok, folks, it’s time to start phase 2 of the Closed Beta selection. Please read the following instructions carefully before posting in this thread.

1. Check to see if you were nominated as a community leader. Thanks to mr_sneaky, there is a complete list here. If your name is on that list, you are already in the pool of potential testers.
2. If your name does not appear on that list, make a post in this thread answering the following questions and post only once:

• How long have you been playing games from the SOCOM franchise?
• What SOCOM games have you played?
• Are you in a clan?
• Tell me in one paragraph why you want to be in the closed Beta

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:

The closed Beta participants will be selected from a large pool of players with varying degrees of participation on the forums and various backgrounds of SOCOM playing history. This is a small group so there will be a lot of people that won’t get into this closed Beta. I am compiling lists of each group of players (community leaders, long time players, newer players, etc.) and the participants will be chosen from these groups, depending on what is needed as the testing is done. So please be honest about your experience. Since we want people from varied backgrounds of playing, that’s important.

I want to thank you all for your interest and enthusiasm and I wish we could invite everyone into this closed Beta. But it will be a small group to start with until we get to the open Beta. I apologize in advance if you do not get into this phase. Please don’t take it personally. Selecting a small group of testers from such a huge group of people that wish to participate is not easy. The goal here is to get a well rounded group of testers that can offer a great range of feedback.

Please keep this thread on track and only post with information listed above. It’s going to be challenging enough to go through all of these posts and sort them out. Please don’t clutter the thread with other questions and comments. Please start another thread for that.

I should be picked for the closed beta because I could give you great feed back, and great game play or testing time. If I were to be picked for the Socom confrontation closed beta I will put my full time testing, playing, feeling what would make this game great (not like it isn’t great, IT IS) I know I would be a good beta tester because I have played all the Socom games, Socom, Socom 2, Socom 3, Socom Combined Assault. I have put more than 7months time playing Socom (maybe more, I played that game everyday for 5-8 hours, I even stayed up for 24 hours a couple of times), it’s one of my favorite games so I know what Socom confrontation is pressured to be, and I could give you fantastic feed back from my testing experience. Personally I have played hundreds of games (next-gen. and old school games) and I still go back to Socom because I can’t get away from the good times making friends playing the creative maps, game modes, and just having fun. Socom is the only game that I could play for months, even years and still get a great time out of it. If I were picked to be one of the few beta testers I would put my full time and attention into play testing this game to perfection, by giving the team at Slant Six games a thorough and fantastic feedback on what to change, improve and tweak. If you pick me, as one of the beta testers, you will not be disappointed you would be more then happy that you have picked me. I would also like to say that i have been in a clan with a good friend since socom 2.

I have been playing SOCOM since SOCOM 3 but I have bought the first two do to the recommendations. I have played and own SOCOM I, SOCOM II, SOCOM III, SOCOM FTB, SOCOM FTB II and SOCOM: Tactical Strike. I love them all and I have put much time in all of them to sharpen my SOCOM skills. I am in a clan called Lethal Latins started in SOCOM II. We have developed a close relationship and become great fans thanks to SOCOM. Some of our members are even planning on buying their PS3s just to get SOCOM.

    I deserve to be in the Closed beta for many reasons. First off I bought my PS3 just for SOCOM when I thought it would be coming out on the original release date given. I am a rounded gamer who is borderline casual to hardcore. I am starting to play shooters more now than I used to yet I still know what casual gamers want and look foward to in games. I would be very helpful for that demographic. I have been on the boards since I heard that it could help me get into the SOCOM betas and I give my input whenever possible. I have been in betas before and I know how to help. I do have to admit I was a glitcher for a while and I can help find glitches and report them to the devs and help by reporting all the glitches that I happen to find. • How long have you been playing games from the SOCOM franchise? I started the first day Socom 1 came out. I preordered it because I thought the whole headset thing seemed interesteing.

• I have beta tested many games before which include, COD4, Socom 2, Socom 3, Battlefield: Bad company, and couple more whoich for some reason I can't think of off the top of my head and know what to look for and how to communicate back to the people that need the information. I did the betas and helped out and communicated with the community to help get the game where it needed to be. I am a strong member of many forums and get a feel from everyone. IF you look at my post count I lost my password for my last account and started a new name but that doesn't effect what I know and do. I've played every game in the series and am very familiar with how the game works and how things should work. I believe I would be an excellent candidate.

• How long have you been playing games from the SOCOM franchise? Since the release of S1 I was hooked after playing at a friends house. By the time I bought a PS2, S2 had come out and since then the SOCOM games have been the only games to touch my PS2 disc drive.
• What SOCOM games have you played? I own S1/2/3/CA/FTB/FTB2/and just recently bought tactical strike but haven't beaten it yet.
• Are you in a clan? YES! my clan is called X-Factor. Unfortunately, after S3 alot of our members stopped playing, so their are just a couple of us left, but in Confrontation we will be recruiting actively
• Tell me in one paragraph why you want to be in the closed Beta

        I realize that when you look at my post count I may not have the thousands of posts that the people nominated in the other thread have, however if you look at my history I originally joined these boards back in 2004 when S2 was at its hayday and these boards were super active. Since then I have created threads and added to the community by posting my thoughts and suggestions based on my gaming experience with all the Socoms. Unlike others here who will tell you that S3 was terrible, unplayable etc, I am one of the few Socom vets that appreciated S3 for what it was and tried to adjust to the new gameplay that zipper incorporated. I found ways to play tactically in big rooms as well as small rooms and in convoy games escorts etc. I beleive I am an expert in tactical play involving communication and can provide sufficient feedback to the kind of tactical strategic gameplay elements that the socom community loved in past games. Even though Socom 2 is my fav of the Series, I have spent just as much time playing S3/CA and have adjusted to playing the larger 32 player games that you will be implimenting in confrontation.

I hope I am considered for the closed beta, and if not I have faith that the candidates selected will do a great job at providing feedback. Thanks for your time!

I love the Socom Series. I'm addicted to it. I would like to test it and help ya'll with finding bugs and what not, so when the final games comes out it will be bug free.

• Tell me in one paragraph why you want to be in the closed Beta - I want to be in the closed beta mainly for two reasons. First, (like everyone else is going to say) I want to do my part to make SOCOM Confrotation the best possible game that it can be. Secondly, I want to have some fun with this. I can assure you that I will do tons of "glitch hunting" and "defect tracking", but I would also like to play some good, old-fashioned, SOCOM again. After the first few games of developing my first impression of the game, I promise to dedicate a substantial amount of time to helping Slant Six make this SOCOM the best one to date. I own resistance and COD4, both of which are great games, but I know that SOCOM has the potential to be the premier shooter for the PS3. I don't want that potential to go to waste and I feel that I can greatly contribute to Confrontation reaching the peak of its abilities. That's why I want to be in the closed Beta. Truth.

4. Well I've been on these forums since 2003 pretty much every day. I've read/bought any and all things socom related. so i have a pretty good understanding of the franchise.

   one thing i can not stand are glitching and cheating, so i would like to be a part of making this game as flaw free as possible. i am online every night, and its been that way ever since the network adaptor was launched, so i have the time,and am willing to put in hours it takes to complete this beta.

>> I truly think I would be able to help out with the games progression. I'm pretty team oriented, and I'm pretty sure I'd be able to help. I've played SOCOM 1 (I started during 2 though) and I know how the feel of those games were, and I know what the community is looking for. However, I also know that the franchise needs to progress, and I think I could help with that as well.
