Nope.....Capcom no longer has the rights.
"If you look at our competitors, one machine has zero backwards compatibility and one only has it with a third of their games but our product will always be 100% backwards compatible."
Yeah...Mr. Tretton should probably double-check his facts before doing interviews in the future.

From what Ive seen, its actually Marvel's fault. After the movies, the liscence rights went up in cost. So much so that Capcom said they couldnt make Marvel Vs Capcom 3 profitable enough (which is bull because they know it will sell). But Marvel did up the rates.
What I dont get is, its not entirely about liscence rates. Marvel should realize that with each EA release, their franchises suffer. Marvel Nemesis was quite possibly the worst "fighting" game ever made. Capcom has done worlds for Marvel's popularity in Japan, you think that would be incentive enough to encourage future Capcom Marvel games.
What Capcom does have the liscence to is Namco characters. Just like the SNK deal, Namco got to make a game with Capcom characters, and Capcom gets to make a game with Namco characters. A 2D Namco Vs Capcom would be damn cool. A 3D one would be better, but due to that the only way to mesh weapons with hand to hand is in 2D, thats probably the best way to go. So a game based on that is what I would hope for from Capcom because sadly, Marvel is totally out of the question at the moment.

Sometimes EA really angers me with their spending practices....

i believe not it was lack of sales here's why the ps2 version of MvC2 received above average reviews and was the most inferior version between the dreamcast and xbox it had miniscule load times unlike the load-free dreamcast and xbox versions the sprites on the ps2 version did not have anti-aliasing like the dreamcast and original arcade, the xbox looks much better but not as clean as the dreamcast or arcade so it ended up looking the worst compared to capcoms SF anniverssary and SF anthology MvC2 looks alot more jaggy, its sad the original SF has better looking sprites than MvC2 i play on an HDTV so everyone looks more pronounced, when i play on my friends regular CRT tv it looks much better so i can tell/know the difference, capcom did a crap-ass job on the ps2 version of MvC2 on top of that not many people were really hyped when it was announced on either system, many passed on it (i was really excited because i did not like the dreamcast controls nor did i want to get one and it was my favorite fighter at the time, probably still is...) alot of people were disappointed that it was inferior to the dreamcast graphically and had no extra content/features and to top it off it was put on those inferior hard to read blue discs now this what i friggin hate, everyone now wants MvC2 is it because its rare or because its a good game? if it was such a good game why didn't it sell well on ps2? or because no one cared back then? (i think no one cared back then because i always saw it on the shelf, 2002/2003) then 3+ years later huge demand? like **bleep** it goes for more now than it was brand new i'm so glad i got mine at release
