New Additions / Improvements Info:

• New to Tekken 6 is the rage system your life bar flashes red when you have 5% life or less and your damage is increased by 10% for the duration of rage mode.

• Tekken 6 also introduces "item moves", in which a character uses an item to attack the opponent (for example, Bryan Fury uses a shotgun, Anna Williams kicks her shoe,Lili using a parasol or umbrella and so on).
• Zafina is a female who will have moves Harada likened to that of a “spider” and who enters the tournament to prevent the clash of the “two evil stars.”
• Leo, is a German who is intended to be a character who can be played by beginners and experienced players alike. The death of Leo’s mother prompts Leo to begin investigating the Mishima Zaibatsu.
• Miguel, is a Spaniard with a passion for fighting, but no real discipline. Miguel wants to exact revenge upon the death of his sister at her wedding.
• Bob, is an American who is known as a martial arts genius. Due to being unable to defeat larger opponents however, he disappeared from the fighting world, determined to increase his weight and power while still maintaining speed. Bob enters The King of Iron Fist Tournament 6 to test his new skills. Azazel is the final boss of the game.
• Azazel is the final boss of the game. Azazel’s story is said to be related with Zafina and Julia Chang’s story in Tekken 6 and the confrontation between Jin Kazama and his father Kazuya Mishima.

July 17, 2007 - Bandai Namco provided the answer at today's PlayStation Premiere event in Tokyo.According to Impress Watch, the company announced at the event that Tekken 6 will, like Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection Online, feature online combat. The online play will be just part of a variety of new modes that will feature in the home version.
And when will that home version arrive? The arcade version isn't due until later this year, but once that's out, PS3 owners will have to wait less than a year for the home version, Bandai Namco confirmed.

Tekken 6 (PS3) in December '08

July 22nd, 2008 - There's a number of titles we were hoping to witness at this year's E3 Media & Business Summit, but it looks as though their creators chose to wait a bit longer before showcasing them. Tekken 6 is one of these games. The new installment in Namco Bandai's famous 3D fighting series is in development for the PlayStation 3.
Speaking in a recent interview with GameEX Magazine, Bandai's Haruki Suzaki uncovered that Tekken 6 is slated to hit retailers during December 2008. He was also asked if the game will be a PS3-exclusive. To this he replied: "Yes,despite rumors we currently have no intentions of going multiplatform with Tekken 6 however the final decision hasn't been determined yet as of the moment."

The game was released in Japanese arcades on November 26, 2007. This should make PS3 owners happy, albeit an Xbox 360 version would be a welcomed sight indeed.

Tekken 6 Missing in Action At E3 2008

The game Tekken 6 for Sony PS3 was not at E3 Media & Business Summit this year, but there is some good news for all those waiting for this fighting game, seems like those creators want us to sit back a little longer before they showcase it.Tekken 6 is the latest instalment game in Namco Bandai’s famous 3D fighting series that is in development for the Playstation 3, and for those who want to know when it will be available will be happy to know it could possibly be around December 08.ActionTrip said there was a recent interview with GameEX Magazine with Bandai’s Haruki Suzaki; the interview revealed that Tekken 6 is slated to hit retailers in December 2008.Is this going to a PS3 exclusive? Tekken 6 Scenario Campaign Impression.

A couple of hours after E3 closed its doors on day one, Namco Bandai issued a press release announcing that Tekken 6 will feature a cooperative Scenario Campaign mode in which you and an online friend can pit your skills against waves of enemies and, oddly, equip your favorite combatant with weapons that include staffs, flamethrowers, and machine guns. We already checked out the PlayStation 3 version's Arcade mode yesterday, so this morning we headed for the Xbox 360 version and asked a Namco Bandai representative to show us Scenario Campaign.

                                                                                           To Bundle or Not to Bundle that is the question?

 

Alright, so your money's as good as in Namco's pockets already, what with the HORI Tekken 6 Wireless Fight Stick Bundle and the GameStop-only Cardboard Tube Samurai character. You've already made that decision. Glancing over your checking account statement every month, from now until the game's released, your brain will automatically deduct the $149.99 (+ applicable state sales tax).

So the real question is: How long will you have to keep this mental math up for? Namco sends word that the Xbox 360 and PS3 releases of Tekken 6 will be tekken up retail space October 27 in North America, "with the Europe, Japan and Asia release to follow shortly thereafter." As for that PSP version, it'll be available "this fall" but we can't offer you anything more definitive than that. 127 days and counting ...

                                      

It was announced today that the Tekken Series will no longer be a Sony Playstation Exclusive, after over ten years of sony revolutionizing the fighting genre with this franchise it is exclusive no more, what a sad day for the gaming industry overall. I personally am very disappointed with Namcos decision to go multiplatform, in my opinion the age of console gaming is headed in a very sour direction however as a consumer, I cant help but to feel helpless in this matter.

The international rivalries weren't as plentiful this year as it was in the past (only Korea and Australia sent teams), but Japan fought hard and secured a top 4 all Japan finals! The highest placing international team was "The Best Team" from Korea (Soyongdory, Kim Motive, Rain). Let's hope we have as big a response for Tekken 6 at next year's EVOLUTION tournament!

Filipino wins Timezone-sponsored Tekken 6 International Tourney

December 13, 2008 - Quezon City, Philippines

TriNoma played host to Timezone’s first International Tekken 6 Tournament which pitted respective finalists from the Philippines, Australia, and New Zealand. All five participants played round-robin race-to-5, with the emerging top 2 players battling it out for the championship crown.

Andrew Kim is Australia’s national champion – holding the best ranks in his country. Jamie Joe and Glen Wagstaff are the best Bob and Yoshimitsu players respectively in New Zealand. Finally, Carlo Racela and Dax Chua are the survivors from the 32 finalists from 16 locations in the Philippine Nationals.

Kim almost swept the first round losing only to Glen. But in the final match it was Carlo that dominated Kim sweeping their set and emerging as the First international Champion – to the jeers of the hundreds of players and spectators from the home crowd.

The champion was awarded with an autographed trophy, laptop, USD 500, round trip ticket to Japan, and a Bloodline Rebellion data card flashing “International Champion” under his name. Runner-ups also received handycam, digicam, and a Sony PSP, as well as similar special data cards, among other consolation prices.

Among in attendance were Mr. Katsuhiro Harada and the rest of Project Tekken – which brought two Bloodline Rebellion Cabinets for local testing (a first outside Japan). Timezone’s president announced that all Tekken 6 machines in the Philippines will be updated to Bloodline Rebellion starting late January next year.
