Imagine this: you are in your Home garage with say three or four cars of your choosing to "decorate it". You walk up to a car and push a button or two and launch directly into GT5 with that as your selected car. If you have some friends with you, you could launch directly into a private multiplayer race. my idea for a GT5 home space: a large pit stop area (maybe from one of the tracks). A bunch of the stalls would be occupied by manufacturers. From those stalls you could launch into GT5 and test drive one of their cars. Maybe have a couple of stalls for parts manufacturers. Maybe giving tuning advice. You could gather some friends out on the track and launch into a multiplayer match.

I like this idea.

It seems GT5 is going to have two levels of tuning capabilities, one similar to what we have now, plus a more traditional one.
The simple tuning system that we have now can be learned relatively easily and used by neophyte tuners until they are ready to use a more complete system.
If PD makes a more complicated tuning system, then why not have a Tuning Licence test that must be passed before being allowed to use it? That way we all know, including GT, who knows their stuff. This presupposes that GT5 would also have some sort of tuning school, then, too, to teach us "the right way to tune".
Cheers,

My list of GT5 features, that will inspire me to buy a PS3, specifically for GT5: I saw in the press conference that they're going to have NASCAR in the game, I am a big NASCAR fan, and am in need of something greater than what EA has to offer. GT5 needs to be set up in a way where I am responsible for making my career choices, I need to be able to go from series to series when I want to. So, if I want to stay in the NASCAR Series, every aspect needs to be there, I need to have an accurate points system, a full field of cars, a full array of tracks and I need to be able to receive contracts, etc. This goes for all other series'. One thing I noticed about the Gran Turismo Series is that it's super clean graphics lack minute details. Fences for example are perfectly straight, but the need to be similar to those in real life, so there needs to be flaws in their straightness. Walls need and other barriers need to get damaged, when you travel through dirt or grass, the effect on them need to be accurate. These are all necessary in a true simulator. The interior view looks flawless, but so far it lacks realism, only because the camera doesn't move, but in a real simulator, the camera would shake at every bump and collision. Gran Turismo 4 was a great game, BUT I was disappointed in little details, like the lack of visible rubber on the track, and the lack of smoke during a spin out, this has to be changed, there has to be a realistic amount of smoke. And for God sakes the tire screeching has to have it's volume taken down a notch, it's just a 'little' to loud. One feature that I wouldn't mind is day-night transition, this creates a bit of realism, that EA has already implemented, and shouldn't be difficult. Now, I expect this game will have formula 1, NASCAR, Rally, Le Mans, and even more. These series' all need to contain features that are unique to them outside the game. This will create a whole new simulation experience, a racing career for the average joe. Wouldn't it be great if you could have a Formula 1 career, or even a career in a smaller open wheel series on 1 save file, then switch to a Alternate reality in which you're a Le Mans champion in the next save file? Customization needs to be improved this time around. Need for speed Swift supposedly is implementing interior mods, such as roll cages, and such. Maybe even ignition switches, which are required by some series'. There needs to be a paint program, one with as many features as Forza 2 would be plenty for me. I would like to paint the wheels of my car. Body Modifications need to surpass that of Forza 2, I was very disappointed with the lack of possibility in forza 2. Engine and Powertrain swaps need to be included. These swaps need to be realistic, but at the same time intense. I have seen people put V8s in VW bugs for example. I want a very reliable racing wheel to be able to play this game with. I believe that GT5 should feature a clutch option, this adds to the feeling even more. Last but not least, there has to be Damage. the GT series is one I have turned away from lately because of it's lack of damage. I know the creators of GT5 are saying they want to wait until they can create the perfect damage model. But seriously, I believe they can make it perfect enough! I believe if the guy they have on Forza 3 can do roll overs, then so can the guys at GT5. I believe they can do it better, with better debris effects, scratch effects etc. If these features are included in the final Game, I will sell my 360 and buy a PS3 and GT5. But if they're not I'll be very disappointed... So, tell me what you think!

Hello I haven't had a chance to read all the comments, forgive me if some of these ideas have been posted already. Also, I am new to the Gran Turismo series, so forgive me is some of the below points have already been announced: 1. Please enhance the multiplayer experience and its options. The Race Driver: Grid model is very good in my opinion, it gives you options to create sessions to your liking or search sessions with those settings. Additionally it allows for private sessions so you can race people you know or fans can create their own championships. Which leads me to the biggest issue, which is the ability to find and race with your friends in selected/created/private sessions. 2. Please post the fastest lap times at the end of every race. It is important for me to win of course, but knowing how I did in terms of lap times vs. my competitors is very important to me. 3. The time penalties are a good idea, but I hope it will have a better implementation. All too often I get hit by someone else and I am the one penalized. Unacceptable. If this can not be easily corrected, remove the penalty feature altogether. 4. More camera options. The car chase view, unlike the other views, is very unrealistic and the angle is strange. The cars look and feel like toys. Again, in Grid you have 2 car chase camera views in addition to the bumper, hood, driver views. 5. Allow more time at the end of every race. Longer races will create bigger gaps between competitors, I feel 30 seconds at the end should allow competitors a reasonable time to get to the finish line. 6. As someone mentioned in this forum, the environment looks beautiful but it is too perfect, unlike real life. The game lacks a more "organic" feel, for lack of a better word. 7. Same as point #6, only applied to the lighting. The light and air environment look and feel as if it ere in a vacuum. Dust particles, shadows from trees, ect., are needed to create a more realistic feel to the game. 8. Standing starts for races should be included. For many types of racing, the start is essential to a race tactics, drivers ability and luck, which is always a factor. 9. Will we have weather effects? Rain, snow, etc.. I hope so. These are my initial observations having played GT5 Prologue for a short time. It looks very promising indeed. Very much a classic if some changes are implemented.

They should put in a cluch for shifting gears like toca race driver, and in the DFP put a cluch pedal. Message Edited by JBLAZZE on 03-21-2005 04:27 PM Message Edited by PSX_Cheatster on 05-19-2005 01:09 PM
I have a DFP. Autoclutch is fine. If you want a clutch pedal you can upgrade to the G25. What about the DFGT? does that unit have a clutch pedal? anyway.... GT5 ideas (many probably already stated) 1. Better physics (if a car runs off track onto kitty litter or grass it should respond appropriately - currently does nothing) 2. Private racing lobbies. 3. Allow user to select cars for AI (single player) 4. Allow online host to select races and cars available for his race 5. Better AI (tired of getting hit from behind by AI) more to come...
Go Rossi!!!!!
