Just got off the phone with the 866-405-5464 support number in the GTA IV Liberty City Guidebook. Had being trying forever to get through. Got an English fellow on the line, anyway he stated they were having 1000's of calls on the freeze issue. He recorded multiple pieces of information about my PS3, from hard drive size, to controller type, when PS3 was purchased, wireless or wired internet, how connected to TV, what type of TV, what resolution, etc. Being that I read the planned on 9 million copies selling on launch day, is 1000's of calls a lot? I guess they can only accomodate so many calls.... I just wonder how big the scope of this problem is... The funny part about the convrsation, he said, "is it a 60GB model"... I know complaints are on all models, but the 60GB seem to have the most complaints so far.... They did take my emai addy, and within a couple days, they said they would hopefully email me with some ino on the problem, and maybe a patch... We will wait and see. Other than that, what a bummer. I got mad the first time it was delayed and cancelled my reserve copy. Anyway, it got closer, so I reserved at another store. Get it today, and bamm, locks up, lost save point, etc. I am not playing a game where I am going to lockup randomly. I played all the other games without a SINGLE lockup, for over 100's and 100's of hours. Now this one locks up in well under an hour..... I am a MAD man. Back to life and reality.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not a game disc issue, just tried it, I even erased and re-ionstalled my game data BEFORE i put in the new disc. It's a PS3 and/or ex360 problem.... sorry guys.. gotta wait for a patch from rockstar or go get a new PS3.
Well, at least I will be abe to sleep tonight, knowing all avenues have been exhausted. Failure on a grand scale, speechless..... Shoulda left it Vaporware....

I have a launch system (60 gig) and I get random lockups. Once when they're explaining the dating thing and the other time was during a driving mission. Pretty annoying.
