I was just going to post and ask if the PSN version got rid of all the framerate issues. Didn't expect it to have more issues. Please keep us informed if they update the problem or not. Thanks

I honestly could not remember how it was with the UMD version so I'm surprised to see others thinking the same about the Go version.  I noticed this with Vice City Stories and thought that it was just the way the game was.

I wonder if we can see a comparison video of UMD vs DD on the same system, that would be proof.

(still loving the games though!)

I have a PSP Go, a PSP 1000 & 3000.

I also have VCS and LCS on UMD & DD.

I have tried the DD version of both on my Go, the UMD version on my 3000. I haven't tried either on my 1000 yet.

The LCS UMD on the 3000 works normally, there is lag in the game but only during high action scenes & cutscenes, and even then rarely. I have a high tolerance for this kind of thing, Perfect Dark & Conker's Bad Fur Day (both notorious for their slowdowns) are still 2 of my favorite games.

The Digital Download/PlayStation Network versions of both LCS & VCS however exhibit this crippling lag every couple seconds. It doesn't happen while simply standing around, but you don't have to be driving either. You just have to be moving in some way. It makes the game unplayable because of how it messes up your driving.

I am at work right now and will be all Saturday so I can't test more until later. When I get home I'm going to try the PSN version of LCS on my 3000 & 1000. Also I will try VCS on all of them.

I started up VCS breifly in the hopes it wouldn't have this lag issue but sadly it does.

However, on the bright side, the new game update feature Sony added into the PSP recently will finally get its first use! At least I hope. I was going to call PSN support tonight and see if they are aware of this or if they even care.

TL;DR - UMD doesn't lag, DD does. For both LCS & VCS, tested on a PSP Go & a PSP 3000.

Just an update on this.  I bought Liberty City stories on Thursday for my PSP Go and had the same issue (I posted in the other thread which I will also post this update in).  I submitted an issue through Sony's site, and today they responded telling me to contact Rockstar.  I have submitted a ticket into Rockstar and will update here when I get a response.
Kudos!
