i cannot go ONLINE ... before patch or after patch .. it kept saying try again later, fail to connect with service provide. I have been playing COD4 online perfectly fine!! i have DMZ my ps3 .... even ... I was not able to get on ONE signle online except getting the failure msg above. help !!!

I just got off the phone w/ Sony. Up to this point, I had trouble-tickets open with Take2 and R* only. After the advice on this thread, I grabbed my serial number and called Sony to open up a trouble-ticket with them. Back to the waiting ...

I'm not sure if anyone else has received this yet or not,but my freezing issue had been escalated to Take 2's tier 2 tech support,and I got this response from them today. Hello Xxxxx,
There is an issue with the launch edition of the PS3 and this game, the game was checked over and passed as 100% compatible with the current version of the PS3, of course the earlier version has custom chips which mean that it is a very different animal from the current PS3 on sale.
Sony are aware of this difference and are looking into producing a new firmware just for the earlier version of the PS3.
