And here we go again..... For all the new folks joining us, welcome! This is the official "Ask the Dev Team" thread where we try to answer your questions...
And no, we can't answer questions about future products yet. We have to wait for an official announcement from Sony!
With that said.... away we go!

Here is a question you can hopefully awncer has Killzone ever had more than 1000 players playing at the same time I remember in late december that it was like 950 a night. Where you would have US EAST, US EAST 1, US CENTRAL completely full.

I'd have to go seriously trolling through a ton of old email to get exact numbers, but I do remember being in at least the high 900's around Xmas 2004.

Oof - I keep running out of ways to answer this without violating our non-disclosure rules. Not to mention a few little "twists" in that comment to catch me off guard The E3 footage was for a game in the Killzone franchise on PS3. I'm afraid I can't say more than that....
I'll try to get up on the IGN boards and see what's been said. Thanks for the heads up.

When people do the rocket glitch how come it freezes the PS2 instead of kicking you off online. Is it just the PS2 running out of memory.

Do you mean like the rpg glitch in socom 2?Also I think thats a
framerate problem if the ps2 freezes from that, and memory, but I'm not
devs lol...

I don't now about Socom 2 but the one where you can shoot a lot of rockets at the same time becasue you using such and such a weapon but to other players it a rocket.
One thing I don't get about S2 is sometimes the rpg round bounces of the walls like a beach ball

We haven't actually put it up on an analyzer to see what's happening, but I would guess it's overloading memory. We had a similar problem when we were working on TM Black. When Sweet Tooth morphed into the Robot, he originally fired something like 20 rockets simultaneously. In the Public Beta, we had an 8 man game where they all played Sweet Tooth and managed to morph and shoot the rockets all at the exact same time. Needless to say, we had to change the number of rockets in online play as opposed to the single player.
