Alright, so the devs are back for a brief period, ferret says that they're looking at suggestion lists but we should have one up that they can all read. I know that we've had tons posted, but none of them have really stuck around for a while or have been official. So I hope that the mods or admins can stick this thread to the top so everyone can see it an add any suggestions that they might have.
 
But first and foremost I'd like to point out that killzone is a realistic shooter, not a fancy one like halo or timesplitters, so that means

*no dual weilding
 
 
Now there are some things that I really didnt like in killzone that would sometimes choke up the fun, now here are some things that I think that the next killzone needs.
 
-Real ragdoll physics.
The original killzone tried to use ragdoll physics for character deaths, but the results usually turned out bad. Characters would often die in a totally weird fashion
 
-No(or less) LOD errors,
 an LOD error is when something that is supposed to show up, doesnt, and takes some time to load up. Like when you go up to a character and their face is all blurry, but later loads up to how they should look. The graphics in this game were outstanding, but the LOD errors kinda ruined it.
 
 
 
 
-Vehicles.
 Now I know alot of people are going to argue this suggestion, but I think vehicles can really spice up the gameplay in killzone. They should be something that you can jump into at special points in the game, but are not exactly neccisary. So you can just play through without needing vehicles. But it would turn up the multiplayer! I even noticed that in one of the levels(the jungle one particularly) there were some helghast bikes that were placed there, but you couldnt ride them; so I'm guessing that it was something that they wanted to put into the game but didnt have the time to.
 
 
-Melee combat in multiplayer.
I liked how there was some melee combat, but I didnt like how it was exclusive only to single player mode. It can be a real hassle re-loading in a firefight instead of just being able to bat someone with your rifle and escape. So I think that there should be a button especially for melee combat. Just a quick swing of the rifle will do instead of having a long animation.
 
 
Well, that's what I think killzone needs for the next game, if you have any other suggestions feel free to post them. I'll edit the best ones unto the list
 
Hey guys, I'm back, and I said I'd edit the best suggestions into my list, so here we go.
 
-Jumping.
Now I know people argue alot about this one, but I think that jumping should be a part of the next game, when I say jumping I dont mean frogman style Halo jumping. I mean get over sandbags jumping. It can be a real hassle to have to run all the way around an obstacle instead of just being able to jump over. But Jumping should take a bite out of your stamina so you can only do it a limited amount of times(3 to be exact) and how high you jump depends on what weapons you are carrying.
 

-more character variety in multiplayer
I'm sure playing as the bald ISA grunt or Helghast got really old really fast. It would make it alot easier to identify other players when they have different skins, there should be more character models in multiplayer.
 
 
- More maps
Again, playing the same 4 levels over and over again can get very repetitive. The multiplayer mode could really use more maps to spice up the online gameplay as well as the offline multiplayer. I cannot stress that enough. Downloadable maps would be great as well as some sort of create-a-map mode so that you could make your own maps like in socom 2.
 
-Spectator mode
It's almost becoming mandatory that online games have some sort of mode where you can watch other players, it would be awesome if you could put in  a spectator mode so that new players can pick up on player strategies and know what they're up against before they enter a match, it would also be good for experienced players to learn new moves.
 
- Better sniper controls
Sniping an enemy can be really troublesome, especially in multiplayer. Each time that you move the sniper it automatically re-alignes to the center, the controls for the sniper are too tight. A better sniper mode would be the one that you see in games like socom 2. Also using a sniper means an automatic kill, no-matter which body part is shot. I dont think this is fair to other players and it  is not really very realistic.

I've floated this thread to the top for everyone....  Please note - don't just post to say "yes, I agree with everything".  It just makes the thread longer and slows everyone's machine down.  With that said, please do add your suggestions:

I've been going through the posts here and compiling a list of everything you guys have talked about.  Here's what I have so far (in no particular order).  I'm going to list everything I find, but that does not been that all these things can be done - so please don't take this as a "Ferret promised" - 'cause I'm not. :smileytongue: 

It also doesn't mean I agree with every suggestion, but the only fair thing to do is compile a complete list.  So I'll keep editing this post and adding as you all give suggestions.

  • Online Specific Game Features
    • Voting System for Online
      • Don't let the hosts boot at will, players need to vote
      • Need some kind system so players won't vote you out unfairly or to gain advantage against another team.
    • Melee combat in online
    • Add a Capture the Flag mode and other modes, maybe round-based.
    • Deeper multiplayer experience, more like a war campaign.
    • Downloadable content
      • New maps
      • New skins or character customization
      • New weapons
      • Or possibly unlockable content that could be unlocked through a patch.
    • Statistics
      • Address ranking problem where experienced players can create new accounts and thereby mess with others by "de-ranking" them just to keep them from progressing to the higher ranks.
      • Add the ability to track accuracy as a statistic
    • 2 player split screen online ala Timesplitters and R&C:UYA
    • Weapon filter - ability to choose only certain weapons when hosting an online game.
    • Some sort of replay feature to rewatch a great online battle
    • LAN mode
    • More information about a game before you join it.  Besides players and ranks, information on score, how much time left, etc.
    • Spectator mode
    • Music in online, not just sfx
      • Not music just for the sake of it. Keep the atmosphere.
    • Some system to deter Team Killing
      • Maybe an automated system that can detect excessive team killing and boot you out.
      • Need to be careful no to get someone for fairly, but accidentally, killing team members - i.e. a grenade thrown over a wall.
    • More spread out spawn points and fix issues with spawning on wrong side in team games.
  • Community Features
    • Clan Support
      • Clans have their own ladders and statistics
    • Ability to edit names and not lose ranking and statistics
    • Able to see stats and ladders on a website outside the game.
    • Headset Support
      • Multiple voice channels to choose between talking to team and talking globally in the lobbies
      • Proximity hearing
    • Integration of Eye Toy for video chat in community features
    • Ability to play internationally with other users - not just limited to North America.
  • General Game Features
    • Jump button (sigh.... yes, I know it's controversial - but I have to include it for completeness)
      • impose limits on jumping like metered time, and/or make the guns less accurate if fired while jumping
      • possible have a weight meter or encumbrance meter that affects jumping
    • Vehicles in both offline and online
      • the ability to hi-jack a moving vehicle
    • Better ragdoll physics
    • Less LOD errors
    • Improvements to the fluidity of model animations
    • HDD support
    • Add grenade and reloading animations for other players models.
    • Some sort of unlockables available for beating the single player campaign
    • 2 player Co-Op mode available in both single player and online
    • Ability to "peek" around corners
    • Ability to "crawl" (i.e. prone position)
    • Progressive Scan support
  • Offline Multiplayer
    • Be able to control your bots either via the headset or controller in some form. Create missions that require your bots to be controlled and have nav points on the map you can direct your team to.
  • Weapons
    • Sniper Rifle changes
      • scope filter difficult to see through sometimes, particularly levels like beachead
      • controls too sensitive even after adjusting in the Options menu
      • too accurate and powerful particularly when not scoped. Players make a dot on their TV screen and are able to basically "hip-fire".
      • Make it a bolt action single shot rifle with a reload so it can't be used like an assault rifle
    • Not all weapons need a secondary function
    • Dual Gun Wielding
      • yes another controversial subject. Those that favour this believe limiting it to only something like dual pistols, and having there be disadvantages like slower loading times or slower switching weapons or something.
    • Mounted Weapons like Turrets available in online as well as offline
    • Different kinds of grenades added
      • Flash grenades that could make your vision blurred and distorted
      • Smoke grenades, not only visual but possibly also affect heath or stamina (from breathing in the smoke of course)
    • Iron sights and aim points of weapons instead of cross hairs
    • Fire rate selection on weapons (single shot, burst, fully automatic)
    • Ability to silence weapons
    • different ammunition, like steel shot shotgun shells for extra kick, hollow-tips and such.
    • Reduce damage radius or overall damage of explosives. Or have less of them - something to keep this under control
    • Land mines that last till stepped on or trip mines
    • Heat Vision
    • Night Vision
    • 203 secondary fire - more sticky and a remote detonate feature
    • Ammunition not scattered everywhere, have points like barracks or something to get ammo
  • Characters & Enemies
    • Different character classes in online that you can choose, with different weapons and abilities
      • Ability for character customization, clan customization, etc.
      • Add a Medic class for variety in online play
      • Dont force you into a class with only a few weapons for the entire game.
    • More variation in the audio for the characters and AI so they don't repeat the same things over and over.
    • More awareness of AI to environment with their audio cues (i.e. sneaking up behing you but yelling Aarrrggh giving themselves away)
    • Friendly NPCs to interact with
    • More variety in the Enemy classes (Helghast). Different characteristics, abilities and physical models.
    • Being able to command 2 soldiers in your troops and leave the rest doing their thang.........just few commands like "RUN TO CROSSHAIR", "REGROUP", "COVER" & "SHOOT".
    • Keep bots in offline battlefield
    • a "training camp" so to speak, where you could enhance your charcters abilities; strength, toughness, willingness, courage, endurance, weapon skill: to study the weapon, ect.
  • Environments & Missions
    • Destructable environments
    • More blood - particuarly in the environment (i.e. blood on the walls and floors, etc.)
    • Less Linear singleplayer, more routes or paths to complete missions
    • Larger Levels
    • More situations where ISA soliders take fire and die in missions
    • An escort type of mission and/or a rescue mission
    • Some levels where battles take place at night
  • Story Elements
    • See some Vektan civilians if it takes place on Vekta
    • a Helghast side of the story

How about some improved and fluid animation in player models? The 1st person weapon animations are godly, but the animation models look very jerky and crappy.

Snipers are out of control on Killzone. Players mark an aiming dot on their tv screens and then use it as an assault weapon. It should be a single shot bolt action sniper rifle or it should have smaller magazines and/or less ammo.

I would like to see:
1) More skins for multiplayer
2) Less LOD errors(yes it's already there but I hate them!)
3) Classes for multiplayer (instead of always starting out with the ISA Assualt RIfle or Helghast one
4) More accuracy when you fire you gun (I get annoyed because out of a 30 round mag, only 5 actually shoot within the crosshairs making it lucky to kill unless you do one or 3 shot bursts from far away.)
5) More maps based on urban environments

Shouldn't you change it to Killzone Ps3???  Anyways

-Make multiplayer more deep.  This can be fixed with better level design, vehicles, etc.

-CTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  C'mon, my fav. mode online, you HAVE to have this.

-Meelee button, it would help because of the animation in the first game... teh whole thing didnt fit.

-Downloadible content???

-HDD support

-Not all weapons need a secondary function

-Make it like a war(campaign)  People dragging people around, non-linear, explosions everywhere.

-2-player online and Co-op.

Hi Downlink.  Could you clarify the last one.... did you mean 2 players online from the same console joining into larger games together?  Or did you mean a 2 player cooperative experience online?

Make it a little bit harder to get deranked.With lots of players starting new names all the time it makes it hard to get past Lt.colonel.I consider myslef a decent player at captain but I dont see myself getting past that with better players coming in as private's  all the time.I guess it really doesnt matter but there are 6 ranks after Lt.colonel and not to many people get that legit

Make a grenade and reloading animation for other players that aren't you. For example, when someone is a cooking a grenade, you see them with their hands out like they're holding an invisible gun.

I would like to see better ragdoll physics and also a melee button. I also think drivable vehicles in both single player and online play would be a welcome edition. In regards to HDD support, I don't think it will be included simply because the HDD is basically extinct, with no games besides Final Fantasy XI supporting it.
