I agree with Reevr. The lens glare takes away from the immersion in my opinion. Alot of other people on forums think this way, too.

And speaking of immersion, I have a question:

1. I think that everything should be in first person, including vehicles. The moment the camera moves away from Sev's head and shows the outside of the tank/jeep/etc. is when you lose the sense immersion. Have you guys tried to make it in first person? (Far Cry 2 does this perfectley [Only thing is does good, acually])

I also got another question:

2. You said there isn't an install, right? Well, doesn't that mean there will be texture pop-in? I'm pretty worried about that.

Thanks.

Sorry, wont be changed.  I'll put it down to a matter of taste then.  I don't think it removes from the immersion at all.

1. There is very little in 3rd person.  Nothing worth worrying about.

2. It is something we are working on.

I can guess that in the late stage of development Killzone 2 must be in now that most of GG's time is spent removing bugs, so is it safe to say that the beta is a pretty accurate reputation of the final product minus the bugs?

Minus the bugs, better visuals on the maps, less lag, more stability, slicker HUD and much more.

Flashlights.  Almost completely necessary.  Will there be any when this goes gold?  The shotgun model already has a flashlight looking thingy on it.  And it would be another way to show off them fancy lightings that you guys worked so hard on

nah, one weapon only, the shotgun.

Sorry if this has been asked but soooo many pages. Will this game support 1080i, my friends tv does not do 720p and he wants to buy a ps3 soon.

Also, are there plans to add new classes after the release of the game, as well as vehicles (of course this would probably be with new levels)

And is there gonna be more waves of the beta, or even demo stations in malls and stuff a month before release.

I got a message from one of our code gurus today about me talking about the 720p stuff I was spewing incorrectly and told me that we now support 1080i natively too.  Glad they got that in too.  Now rejoice!

I think my questions are very specific, they are things that I have been thinking about for a while which may make or break the experience for me.

1. Will Killzone 2 support game launching from home?

2. ( very important to me, and our LAN gaming days throughout next year ) Will there be support for multiple people playing on a single console over LAN

3. Will there be support for multiple people playing online on a single console?

4. After reading the FAQ I noticed that there is a rank system with 12 ranks. What is your view on the rank system because with 12 ranks it doesn't sound very robust measure of ability. Seems like a typo to me.

5. One of the key features for Halo is its ranking system and the fact that your rank can actually go down unlike in COD. I'm very interested to know whether rank will actually show a players ability or just how long they have been playing; so will your rank have the power to go down as well?

6. Will their be true rank matched games? Playing social slayer (on halo again) at a friends house I am able to jump right into halo and play decent games without feeling like I'm being totally outclassed because I don't own the game (or console for that matter) which is something that totally failed in COD. I personally believe this to be a very important feature in terms of accessibility but obviously it wouldn't work without a good ranking system.

7. What is your stance on game AI? ( I want to be an AI programmer you see, but I am also aware that when it comes to computer games they tend to try to get results through imitation techniques and scripting to minimise cpu load)

8. You have a cool job.

9. Thank you very much for taking time to answer questions. I realise that some of my questions may be a bit difficult to answer without you getting in trouble and for that I apologise.

1. Not talking HOME yet.

2. Not talking about such things either.

3. No splitscreen or co-op if that is what you mean.

4. Well depends on how much time and effort you are willing to put into it.  We are looking into it though and will keep an eye on it post-launch.

5.  Ranks can go down, but we wont take your unlocks.  If you are ranking down so much mods will look into your behaviour though :smileywink:

6. There is a 'My Rank range' option so you only play guys 1 up and down from you.

7. From Remco Straatman, our Lead AI Programmer, as I am not too qualified to answer this stuff.  Take it away Remco!:

"Where we think it provides a better game experience we try to use "academic" techniques (such as planners, world modelling, tactical reasoning etc.). However, super efficient (deadly) AI is not necessarily fun AI, and sometimes more impact can be had by using more "mundane" techniques. And like you said, we have to live on a limited CPU and memory budget, so we cannot do anything we'd like to. If you want to know more, we've published an article about a part of our AI system in the AI programming wisom series part3, and threespeech recently did a series of articles on games AI that also details some of the techniques and tradeoffs we deal with (http://threespeech.com/blog/2008/11/intelligent-design-where-is-a
i-going-part-two-perception/
). I hope this answers your question, back to finishing the game now."

8. My liver, grey hairs and girlfriend might disagree. :smileywink:

9. Trouble is relative. :smileyvery-happy:

Just stay calm till the final game.  We have not been commenting on party systems much yet.

So now, is there any thought at all of another KILLZONE game for the PS3? J/w. . It seems like the games are being made rather quickly now- COD: WaW only took about 1.5 years? That's crazy fast.

That is a big fat no comment.  Haven't even finished this one yet and you already want a new one?  I want a holiday first! :smileytongue:
