MVP had much more consistent control. The batter's eye in MVP was much more reflex/skill oriented than 'the show' batter control. AI decision for which fielder you would control was much cleaner and overall fielder control such as diving or jumping was much more intuitive. With all that said, I feel that 'the show' is a bit more realistic. In MVP, you could get really good to the point where you hit 150hr/yr. The fielding was much too easy. Your players wouldnt error enough and outfielders could cover too much ground. 'The show' also has a role playing game RTTS. That is probably my main attraction to this game. In conclusion, MVP05 gets my vote for franchise/season mode while 'the show' gets my vote for RTTS.

MVP 05 sucked ass. First off, hitting is easy as hell. When a player has over 200 HRs in the toughest difficulty, there is a problem. MLB has more control when batting by far. (Moving the bat in the strike zone for example, the batters eye, etc...) MVP's pitching was unrealistic. MLB The Shows is by far better. MVP's presentation was ugly. Commenaty sucked. MLB is much more realistic baseball than MVP could ever be. MVP's create a ball park was pathetic. You can have a high right field wall but not left? Also things were way to expensive to buy. It was a tease more than anything that gave you not much control. MVP's season/franchise is not better for the simpel fact that game does not have MLB The Shows gameplay. MLB 06 destroyed MVP 05, let alone MLB 07 and 08. MVP is more arcade, MLB is more sim (Better)

So are you against the batter's/hitter's eye or what? Also, when you talk about the pitching, they both use that meter which is almost the same(Unless you're talking about ball movement). I can agree that the commentary was boring with the same announcers in MVP, where MLB shows the entire batting order. Finally, what do you mean when you say that MVP franchise does not have MLB gameplay? "Success is best showed, not told."

MVP had the best fielding ever in a baseball game, the show is still lacking in the fielding department. I have never lost more games because of a feilding blunder than i do in this game!!! I hope EA buys take two so we can get MVP baseball back from the pros!!

I'm just asking here. Also, if you look, you'll see that I didn't start this board. I'm just hearing everyone out here and trying to get an impartial view here.
i wasn't talking directly to you ..i was talking to all the people pointing out the flaws of mlb 08 and saying why mvp is so much better..

MVP 05 was far from boring, you must not of played online. IT WAS AND IS the best baseball game to Date. MLB 08 attracts me so much because it reminds me of MVP because it mostly copies off of what MVP 05 tried to do and that's create a realistic yet FUN baseball sim. Online on MVP was the most fun I had on a sports game, period. All the classic battles the great hitting, pitching, throwing runners out at home to win games, all of it was memorable. Now I hope to create those same times with MLB 08 some of which I have already had.

First off MVP was ok. But not nearly as good as MLB series. Why? EA... nuff said. Second I'm not sure I understand you. If I hit a ball I have to move my guy to the bases. If I don't he stands there and I'm tagged out. Same on Defense. Gotta move him to get grounders and flys. same with fouls. so are you unable to move your players or are you saying the game is doing it for you? cause I haven't had either problems.
If it feels like everything is assisted then you probably have all of the "Assist" options on in the Gameplay settings. Turn everything to manual and maybe you will like it more.
