Katakana Learning guide
A basic japanese language that is used in MHP2 is Katakana. It is used for some items, some materials, and ALL monster names!
I have only learned half of it so far and im starting to know what my quest objectives are now! Its really useful to learn, and REALLY easy! I learned half of it in only one week. Wow! Remember, this is optional! But im glad i am - because its fun and easy.

Daily lessons (i use this mostly)
Katakana software (i use this to test what i learned that day [trial version : first 5 lessons only])
Okay, every night i spend about 30 minutes to an hour doing a lesson in the second link above. After that, i test myself using the katakana software.
First night : lessons 3 and 4 ( 1 and 2 if you want to )
Second night and following nights : one lesson per day, except after doing 5 lessons spend one day reviewing
P.S. : if you want to learn the language that uses the rest of the item names and *i think* the dialogue, learn hiragana. I think its about the same learning curve, but only do it after you learn katakana. I might learn hiragana but i most likely will not.

For the HR leveling... are those guild quests to complete? Or are they just the elder quests?
