Amazingly this little bit of news kind of flew under the radar. It's scheduled for a late 2009 release.
LINK
International Marketing VP Franco De Cesare announced that the studio was working on a number of high-profile Fox titles for release in the high-definition format. "They are all of the usual suspects," De Cesare said on Monday. "We are definitely working on Braveheart. We are working on Minority Report. We're working on Fight Club. We're working on the Alien quadrilogy." De Cesare appeared alongside other members of the studio's international publicity team to showcase features on the Day the Earth Stood Still and introduce a Blu-ray screening of the film.

Meh, I guess 20th Century Fox figured that it makes more sense to keep them bundled than pitch and package each movie separately. I mean, who really wants Alien 3 on blu-ray?? I actually once regifted the nine-DVD box set of Alien Quadrilogy. I got it as a birthday present and I never opened it, so I wrapped it up in some newspaper, wrote happy b-day on the hot mess, and sent it to my cousin. I would have kept the Alien Quadrilogy DVD box set if it was the repackaged "Alien-head" that came out in Japan with that Alien mini-Kubrick figure.
Alas, I doubt the blu-ray compilation will be half as cool. BTW is "Quadrilogy" a Hollywood term? I think "tetralogy" is the correct term, I guess marketing folks thought the "Q" looked better around the A (A for Alien!) than a "tetra". So I figure if we had it their way we would be playing "Quadris" instead of "Tetris" then? Meh meh

Alien would probably rank up as the best series ever....if...they wouldn't have made Ressurection. God that movie sucked, and by suck, I mean like worse than Brendan Frazier's - Journey to the Center of the Earth. That kind of suck. I'll probably pick this up though, simply because Aliens 1-3 rule. 'Why don't you put her in charge?!?!!?' - Bill Paxton FTW!!! Morne
