The same thing happened to me. And now i had to send it in for a "new" one

The same thing happened to me after owning the 40GB PS3 for less than 1 week. It no longer recognized DVDs or Blu-ray. They have to ship me a new one. The funny thing is, I posted about this last night, and my thread was deleted. I wonder if this is a 'common' problem with the 40GB PS3 (or PS3s in general) and they don't want bad press to get out before the holidays. Or I'm probably just a conspiracy theorist, and I just missed seeing my post  |

If the sony people get enough phone calls then they may do another update to fix these problems.

The thing is, I only see noobs with this problem. I don't think I've ever seen an established member of this forum say their PS3 has quit reading discs. It all seems very suspicious to me. |
