You can't remove the Bluetooth support.  (Sixaxis and DS3 use it)

You can't remove the DVD and CD support.  (No brainer; and either way, all BluRay readers/writers are manufacturer built backwards compatible with CD/DVD support)

You can't remove the HDD.  (Needed by the GAME OS, games that instal, save games, and downloads; the console's minimum specs must have a constant minimum)

 

All you can do is give 20 GB HDDs, which cost almost the same price as 40GB HDDs, and soon 40GB HDDs will be old tech and will cost just as much as 60GB or 80GB HDDs.

All you can do is remove wireless network support.

 

At best you will save at most $40 for the removal of the wireless network interface and at most $20 (for now) on smaller HDDs.  Note that redesigning the motherboard to remove wireless will add to initial development and production costs.

 

I guess I pretty much summed that up.  Stop complaining.  If you have a PS3, go play it.

 

If you don't and want a lower price because you can't afford it either go work or by another console, but don't come crying back here when you end up buying a BluRay player in the future, or when you have to buy a limited-in-size proprietary HDD, or when you have to buy a controller rechargeable battery pack, or when you can't use your 3rd party Bluetooth headset, or when you have to buy a wireless adapter, or when you have to...

 

The price cannot drop unless profit is made and/or production costs decrease.  Whining and complaining and etc does not help increase profits or production costs, so please, just stop making a fool of yourself and wasting everyone's time, including your own.

Thanks again guys.  Wow, I don't write posts in hoped to get Kudos, but I appreciate the love, hehe.  I was thinking changing the title of the thread/OP to make it more... friendly?  Should I?  As it stands, it doesn't give any insight as to what is annoying.
