and I would just like to add, where I live (Northern VA), everywhere you go people are always asking about Blu Ray or PS3's.  Any Best buy, walmart, circuit city, etc, I always see people buying these systems like never before.  Heck I know people who swore PS3 would fail own PS3's.  People need to give Sony a break.  A $299 PS3 is in the near future (I firmly believe it) and while it may hurt sony financially in the short term, this will be there key to success in the long run.

I do remember the Dreamcast, I owned one when Sega was going through hard times.  Lack of developers support and the incompetence to compete with the PS2 was the main reason Sega was forced to exit the console race. 

PS3's main problem has been price, nobody can tell me that this isnt true.  You can talk about exclusives all you want but there isnt a single exclusive that will save a console.  The hardcore gamers are with sony, its the casual gamers that Sony needs. 

At this point, the price is the main issue.  I think a $599 PS3 is a damn good deal as long as it has b/c, 4 usb ports, etc.  But a $299 PS3 regardless of it being a gimped down version is an incredible deal.  Sony has made mistakes and perhaps they continue to make mistakes (taking out b/c was a stupid decision IMO), but they are not in the same situation that Sega was in.  Sega was struggling against the PS1 and the N64 if you remember.

Article on price drop

Technology might finally be catching up. Of course we have to wait to see if it actually happens but if you bought any sort of memory unit from August till now you know the prices dropped tremendously.

I dont even know why some of yall is hatin on the dreamcast, I loved that system!

NFL 2k (first series of the 2k games to ever drop) was the hottest NFL game to me back then and u also had phantasy star online wich i had a blast playing as well.

Not to mention Tom Clancys Rainbow Six  and House of The Dead, maaan yall dont know nothin bout that dreamcast unless u like 21+ yrs old.

LOL i remember some of my friends braggin how they got the dreamcast installed in their cars with the flip down screens back in 2k, that was poppin back then lol.

I support any system i enjoy and id hate to see sony screw up on the ps3, but as of right now and since i had my first one in feb 07 i dont feel that way the slightest.

Taking out b/c looks like a bad idea, but think of the playstation brand.  They're making tons of profit.  Ps2 are selling for pete's sake.  PS2 had b.c. and look what happen to the rereleased ps one(not much).  PSP's.  There's a list.  PS3 is where they make the big bucks, but the name keeps them alive.  Maybe PS3 will lose this "console war" but will remain a seller for years to come.  So, keep the price and don't offer b.c.  When the PS4 comes out everyone will have one, forgotten about somewhere, under a stack of blu-ray's.  Sony will end up ahead.
