good idea. i would just use the cheaper slims hard drive for the time being and replace it when you need to. it could be a while until you need a newer one and when that time comes, the hard drives will probably be cheaper than they are now, or they will be bigger capacity than what you can currently get.

Get an 80GB or 160GB and if that's not enough space, upgrade the HDD. The 80GB and 160GB have proven to be very reliable and again, Slim has only been out since August 26th 2009 and there have already been a noticable number of failures.
