UPDATE: Reported that 1.70 has not  fixed the DVD and Blu ray movie pausing. We need a fix sony >.>
Temp Fix:  Goto Network settings in the PS3 settings and Disable your network when wacthing a Blu-ray or DVD movie this will stop the pauses and freezes till Sony fixes this.

Caused By: Firmware 1.50,  1.51, 1.54, AND 1.60 cause this to happen,  is something to do with the network trying to access something.  Seems that it does it less and less with each update.

Me and a alot of others have had Blu Ray movies and normal dvd movies pause for like 10 secs for no reason (its not the disks) i had it happen on a normal dvd and a blu ray.  This never happend on the 1.3 updates.

The system is complety unresponsive during the whole pause thr controller buttons do nothing it completly freezes the system then it resumes about 10 secs or so later its VERY annoying.   Sony we need a fix.

Ditto.  I just finished watching a blu ray disc movie and had no problems.

for the people who did have a pauseing problem. I have a question. did you do other tasks like look at picture?  are you on a wireless connection? did you use the video media playback before playing the movie without shuttng down?   i went from doing all that then to a movie and it freezes i havent tryed a normal boot up to a movie yet.   Could people that hasnt had the issue try doing other stuff then wacthing a movie without rebooting b4 the video?
