I updated to 2.0 in order to continue playing GHIII. Since the update I have not been able to load a disk(game or DVD movie). My HD had to be restored/formatted and after that I still can't play a disk. All my content is of course gone and even navigating the menus is slow. I can get into the store and even begin downloading content but have not successfully been able to complete a DL. It moves really slow. Anyone else have this problem?

Hmmm no... I had slow loading times last night because I was trying to download the Uncharted demo at 7:00pm but thats about it... So you put a disc in and it doesn't show up? Sounds wierd to me... since its loading slow how long do you wait to see if the game pops up?

I just encountered the same problem...I was in the middle of playing a game of Eye of Judgment, and suddenly the music stopped. When I placed down the next card, the game froze. I exited to the XMB where the PS3 proceeded to try to load the disc, but after about a minute and a half, I powered off the system and powered it back on. At that point, the PS3 no longer recognizes any discs. I've tried putting in other PS3 games as well as a PS2 game. Nothing reads anymore. It doesn't even look like it's attempting to load. I downloaded FW 2.0 yesterday, and it seemed to be working perfectly fine then. Not sure what caused this problem...

Ok... I'm not trying to judge anyone but thats 2 first posts saying the same thing... PS3 has not had a problem with reading discs... it has had a problem with the disc drive such as noise and not ejecting the game... I don't see how a firmware update can cause this out of nowhere especially when it was working fine for a while and then stopped...

Heh...you think YOU'VE got it bad?? My PS3 won't even power on at all! I updated to f/w 2.0...all was well. Then started downloading the Uncharted: Drake's Fortune demo. About 3/4 of the way through it, my PS3 just shut off!! I haven't been able to power it up for more than one second (after shutting off the main power switch for at least 10-15 minutes) since!! No warning, no blinking lights prior to death...nothing. It just quit. Luckily, there's 8 days left on the 1 year warranty, so I called Sony this morning. They're sending me a box and paying the shipping to send it back to them. Only thing that sucks is that the replacement unit will only have a 90 day warranty. Hope the replacement holds up better!! And I had better get my GT 4 disc that's stuck in the black brick back, too....grrrrrrrrrrr. Nice goin, Sony. Pyro

DAMMM YALL MAKEING ME WORRIED NOT TO UPDATE MY PS3 ANYMORE IS IT REALLY TRUE THAT IT WONT LOAD ANY GAME DISK THE 2.0 DAMMMMM THEN AM NOT UPDATING TILL 2.1 COMES

I updated to firmware 2.0 and had no issues. I downloaded the Uncharted demo in 25 mins...no problems...i am about to hit 630 workunits in folding@home No issues on my 60 GB ps3... What PS3s do you have that you guys are having problems with firmware 2.0?
