Pretty often this happens. I will be either browsing the PS Store or playing a game and all of a sudden the controller loses connection. The red indicator on the controller shuts off. If I press the PS button on controller, the 4 lights keep blinking for a minute and eventually turn off. I go to the PS3 and hold my finger on the on/off button to try and turn it off but the green light keeps blinking endlessly. So what I have to do is switch off the PS3 from the back power button and then reboot it for the controllers to work again. When controller loses sync I try to reconnect other controllers and bluetooth remote but none work so this is how I know it isn't a controller problem. I'm thinking it is a bluetooth problem. I have the 40GB model purchased in January of this year. This only started happening about a month ago. What do you guys suggest I do? I know people have had problems with controller disconnects but usually that happens from the beginning. My PS3 worked fine for 5 months before this started. I haven't moved in these 5 months and I have not added or removed any WiFi routers or made any changes to any devices that might interfere with the bluetooth. I have the extended warranty from Best Buy for the PS3 so I was thinking of taking it for repair or exchange. Anyone know of anything I could do before I do this? I have tried doing a clean format of the PS3 HDD and no dice. Thank you very much in advance!

What happens when you press the reset button on the back of the controller when it loses sync?

It just happened again after I had rebooted it the hard way. Message Edited by S2Obsolete on 07-19-2008 06:47 PM

I too recently have had this same issue as a matter of fact ever since I updated to 2.41. I have this problem usually in a game, sometimes when browsing the PS Store. When I press the PS button in the upper right hand corner it shows a red circle with a - sign And just wont let me quit the game or exit the PS Store, so what I end up having to do is just reset the system. I recommend reseting the system from the front as opposed to turning off the power switch from the back, as sony says you should never just shutdown the system this way. Anyone else having these issues as well and if so know any fixes thanks!

Flat out this is not normal. If I were you, I would take BB up on their exchange program. I know disconnects are nothing that out of the ordinary (although I have yet to have one) but you seem to have a hardware issue if it plagues you to this serious level. If you have your warrantee or replacement program, use it, you are not dealing with normal behavior. If your replacement does the same thing, then it is time to look at your environment.Message Edited by ARW on 07-19-2008 04:04 PM

I really don't think its a issue with his system. Because I just recently started having this problem as well and have never had this issue since I bought my system at launch, So I believe it's either A.) Has to do with the 2.41 update or B.) A controll issue by its self.

Yeah Iin my first post I said that when I try to reset it using the button at the front the green light keeps blinking forever, it doesn't turn off the system so I have no choice but to use the power button in the back.
