Accessing the PlayStation 3 Recovery Menu
According to Maxconsole.net, the newly released 2.50 update for the PlayStation 3 supports the feature to access the Recovery Menu on the PlayStation 3. -Read Me --------
How to Access Playstation Recovery Menu 1. Turn off Playstation®3. 2. Hold The power button down; The system will turn on and turn off once again. 3. Once the System has been shutdown, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps 4. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button. 5. You will be promted to plug in your controller via usb and then hit the PS button 6. The Recovery menu will pop up. -------

Supported Features of 2.50 Recovery Mode - The current Recovery Menu supports:
- Restart System:
- Restarts the PLAYSTATION®3 System.
- Restore Default Settings:
- Reset all system settings back to default.
- Restore File System:
- Checks for corrupt/missing system files.
- Rebuild Database:
- Rebuilds the OS for the PLAYSTATION®3.
- Restore PS3 System:
- Fresh restore; Deletes everything and starts from Scratch.
- System Update:
- Update the PLAYSTATION®3 System

The more an more I play around with the 2.50 update I love the changes that were made with it. But this takes the cake and gives me such nice satisfaction this is an EXCELLENT POST and incredibly useful!!! I Salute You ( image of Solid Snake Salute )

Hopefully this stands as a solution for some of the people who bricked their system updating to 2.5.

HELP! I did brick my console and I can only see the wavy wallpaper with no xmb. However, did I do something wrong while accessing the menu? I turned the ps3 on standby (red light) and held the power button and heard one beep, which was the display settings being reset. I continued to hold it and I heard another beep, which then lead to the ps3 being turned off and back onto standby. No 3 beeps. Thanks for your help
