$700 machine, $150 repair. $299 machine, $150 repair????? Thats dumb, price is half, repair should be half. Apparently they still dont make money on the average repair. For a reflow they use xrays to confirm the proper solder connections and a professional techician(probably getting $100/hr). So I see why, but it would be nice if they would lower it a bit. Yes now the incentive is on simply replacing it as appossed to getting a repair done. Tricky, but thats how MS rolls and it works for them right.

You know it's only a matter of time before more and more people start catching on. The YLOD is growing with popularity daily. Ebay and craiglist are flooded with broken systems. It's actually pretty obvious there is a problem with the system. I've been online from day 1 and have always kept up with video game news and events. There is only one other system I remember having so attention and failures all over.

Have there been news reports confirming a design flaw, as was the case of the other console? I get it, YLOD happens, it is real, it could actually happen to every single PS3 out there. But check this. These numbers are just for fun OK, not real, just to prove a point. In 2007 Sony sells 100 PS3. In 2008 Sony sells 200 PS3. In 2009 Sony sells 400 PS3. Now lets say in 2008 100% of the 2007 PS3's get YLOD. That means the PS3 has a 30% fail rate. When the real rate is 100%. Now lets say in 2009 100% of the 2007,2008 PS3's YLOD. That means the PS3 has a 50% fail rate. When the real rate is 100%. So my point is, as long as Sony continues to increase sales year to year, we will never get an accurate failure rate, Which we need to make Sony do something. The competition had well over 30% of its consoles fail straight out of the box, so the fail rate was obvious. But many people didnt get a repair, they bought new, so the fail rate was actually greatly under stated as well. I know at least 4-5 people with the other box who just bought new as there wasnt a warrenty extension until the lawsuit occurred. And I repeat, of the 4-6 people I personally know, I'm the only one who has broken their PS3, and I got mine last. And the break was my fault, 2 times.

"I'm not mad, I'm furious! This update literally [turned] my PS3 gay. It's literally looking at me with a gay look, instead of that look where he would be like, "Sup buddy, you wanna play some game?" and I would be like, "Alright!" and we would have a good time. It now goes "Hey buddy, you wanna play thome gameth?" and is flirting with me to where I don't want to play it or look at it because I'm getting homophobia. Thanks Sony for ruining my life." - Namster6000 BOYCOTT EA & ACTIVISION

I've said it once but it obviously needs repeating. If Sony admitted a design fault than Sony would have to pay for fixing it. By denying a design fault Sony can charge you $150 to fix it. Whether a design fault actually exists is unproven, but even if you could prove it Sony would never admit to it. Doing so would cost them too much money.
12 Trillion in debt, no support for our troops in Afghanistan, health care "reform" that's going to cost over $1 Trillion and is packed full of new taxes, terrorists brought into the US to be tried as civilians, over a dozen tax dodgers in his cabinet, uselss "stimulus" that did nothing but increase our national debt.......
Is this the "change" you wanted? Does this give you "hope"?
