mikedemo1 might be onto something! I too feel there are many unanswered questions that "corporate America" isn't answering! Like, where's bigfoot really kept? How come there are UFO's all the time, but no one seems to want to admit to Area 51? And when I go to McDonald's or KFC, how come I keep wanting to go back for more, even though I'm full? Maybe the Colonel and the Clown are working with Sony to keep revenues high, so they can secretly work on expanding Area 51!

Sorry mikedemo1 and the OP. If there were any possibility to what your theory states...... this thread wouldn't exist, and Sony ninjas would have already dropped through your cubical ceiling tiles to take you away! Best of luck gentlemen!

No, i dont think it is true.

But i do this the early versions of the PS3 will get the Yellow Light about 2 years after being bought. Mine did.

all i can say is

1. you hit a string of bad luck or

2. you have not been taking care of your ps3. but i know you supposedly never did anything wrong to it.

i had my 60gb ps3 since march 07 and it was manufactured in fed 07. its been 2 yrs and 8 months. so clearly if they designed such a system the f up on mine twice.

i had a faulty 20gb ps3 by faulty i don't mean it died on me or ylod but the hdmi had a wodd problem of not being able to switch from 1080p to 720p or vice versa. so it was odd. i took it to ebgames (where i bought it from) and they allowed an exchange so i got a 60gb because they were out of 20gb.

i had a few freezes here and there but nothing major. and i keep it on for long hours with a movie playing on pause sometimes or leave a game on pause for 30min and i still don't have a problem with it. *knocks on wood*

try again mabe third times the charm. but a refurb will most likely break on you since refurbs are nothing but trash. thats for electronics in general. i went through 6 refurbs of a motorola razor 2 in one day. yes i mean it 6 im not joking. i said f this and bought a new phone since i was able to buy on for a discount.

no it isnt geez people sony didnt do give you YLOD. YOU DID SOMETHING WRONG!!!!! whether its not cleaning out the vents or leaving it on to much you did it you everyone has to blame someone besides themself!!!!!! man up geez.

I guess they didn't do it on purpose.

Yes there is a big conspiracy with not just the ps3 but all technology after warrenty has ended the poduct dies.

Actully the product warrenty given to any product is probably an estimate of how long the product will last.

I have a 3 year warrenty for my tv who wants to make a bet that it dies just after warrenty has ended.
