I remember back in 2006 when PS3 was first released it has backards compatbility for PS2 games with hardware support, then ater it was switched to only software emulation then it was complately taken out. Are they ever going to bring back PS2 support to the PS3? Like maybe when PS2 systems are no longer produced.

They will never make ps3's that can play ps2 discs again, I'm guessing when the ps2 gets discontinued they will go to digital downloads like what they did with the ps1 games.

Maybe, but I doubt it. I read in EGM a year or so ago...some Sony exec said if you want to play PS2 games, buy a PS2. PS3s wouldn't be backwards compatible in order to bring down costs. I bought my 60gig on release, paid alot for it and swore I'd want backwards compatibility. To date, I've played only Battlefront2 on the PS3, and the compatibility stunk. I ended up plugging my PS2 back in just to play the game. So, the BWC of the PS3, IMHO, isn't worth the price. Keep your PS2.

That's just BS. Why would anyone want to pay more moeny to get a digital copy of a game the already have?

Im assuming your saying that because your tired of these type of threads? If that where the case then the only way for these threads to stop is for them to bring it back.
