you could try another program to format it. i like to use EASEUS partition master. it is free, easy to use, and has served it's purpose every time i've used it. go to www.download.com and search for it. this might be just what you are looking for.

dont use swissknife, the thing is that the swissknife software only does QUICK formations, not full ones. i actually like FAT32 converter, look it up on google.

hmm, i have used swissknife many times and i have never had any issues with it.

more than likely the culprit is that the Op is using vista, which swissknife doesnt play well with.

HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool don't work under vista or windows 7, you need to run it on xp or windows 2000.

Works just fine using my wife's laptop and my pc with Vista (wifes is 32-bit, mine is 64-bit) . Also works great using Windows 7 64 and 32 bit versions (my pc and my sons pc). Also used it on XP Pro 64-bit on my pc, and XP Pro 32-bit on my son's. Sorry, but I have used it all versions without any problems whatsoever. Are you calling me a liar?
