BEFORE reading/viewing this thread:
Realize that BOTH production versions (20GB and 60GB) of the PS3 have HDMI outputs. It was originally the idea to only include HDMI on the 60GB model, but BOTH have it now. So don't be confused by this pre-production images.
Using mostly SCEA's official PS3 photos, from both 2005 and now 2006, I have compiled a decent collection of images that compare the models side by side.

So let's get it on:
ORIGINALLY: The PS3 was going to have 6 USB ports. 4 in the front, and 2 in the back. Boy that would've been nice.
ORIGINALLY: The PS3 was going to have 2 HDMI outputs. This would allow for 2 side-by-side HD displays, for an aspect ratio of 32:9, or so that two screens could be used for different aspects of the game (i.e. one screen used for play options, while the other was the actual football game)
ORIGINALLY: The PS3 was going to have 3 Ethernet ports, for reasons beyond my knowledge, probably for some type of networking/router
THEN CAME: The 2 different versions, a 60GB and a 20GB. The 20GB was originally not going to have HDMI, but it does now.
THEN CAME: Dimensions of the new versions were slightly changed from the original 2005 "prototypes".
NOW: Both versions have much more cooling vents, and the placement of the removable hard drive was slightly relocated.

Looks like they add more vents so no overheating . I like the UPDATED versions , Just wish you could pick deffrent colors for the PS3 .

Its actually Photoshopped in by SCEA. All of the 20GB images are just 60GB versions that have been Photoshop (or edited with some other type of program). The black probably wont look that dull/flat on the 20GB version.
