I've taken notice that Sony has considerably slowed the pace in which they release "Classic" titles onto the Playstation Network, the most recent being, I believe, Twisted Metal 2. This really got me think about the opportinities that Sony has, but they just don't seem to be willing to exploit them. Sure there are some decent looking games in their Classics section, but due to the ability to port some of these games directly from the Playstation 3 to the Playstation Portable, this could give people a reason to be far more compelled into buying either of these systems, knowing that they could have great titles on their Playstation Portable that they could take anywhere they want.
One of the most notable, and in my opinion, obvious decisions, would be for Sony to put Final Fantasy VII into the Classics section, and make it available for download. I tell you right now, that if I didn't already have a Playstation Portable, I swear that I would go pick one up, knowing that I could port this game from my Playstation 3, to my Playstation Portable, and have some serious Final Fantasy action wherever I go!
Not only are the opportunities to sell more hardware great, but reviving forgotten software, such as the incredible fighting titles for the original Playstation, Destrega and Ehrgeiz. (Pronounced "Air-Guys.") I'm not going to explain much about either games, except something quick for the nerd in us all. Ehrgeiz is a three dimensional fighter that, in my opinion, revolutionized the style in the genre... at least it would have if more people knew about it... Ehrgeiz features a cast of diverse fighters, including a few of the Final Fantasy VII crew, including Cloud, Sephiroth, Tifa, Vincent and Yuffie. Yes, you get to fight in a battle arena with Final Fantasy VII characters, using signiture techniques like Tifa's crescent kick, or Cloud's Cross-Slash, Meteorain, and even the Omnislash, which is dang satisfying to pull off! ^_^
What I'm saying is that there's excellent classics that could and should come to the Playstation Network, and I'm afraid that they may not see the light of day... Destrega was excellent, and if you want to know more about that title, as well as Ehrgeiz, just click this link...

For those of you worried about this, or can see this as a golden opportunity for Sony to sell more hardware, and even bring to light how awesome and successful a three dimensional fighting game done right can be... just leave your thoughts on the matter, 'cause I'll tell ya' what, to me, the thought of walking around, being able to battle my friends on our Playstation Portables, fighting with great games like Ehrgeiz, Destrega, or other overlooked titles like Vigilante 8... it's just drool inducing.
Playstation is great, and it's up to us, the gamers, to help keep it that way, and do our best to make it better for ourselves, as well as gamers everywhere. So share your thoughts, and hopefully Sony will hear them, ya' know?
