Well, here's the deal. When you overload a server the error will not be "overload", it can be just about anything. A server is very complex, and Sony has probably a whole network of different services running about. So an overload in the network traffic will generate a ton of different errors in different subsystems and different services.

At least that's my educated guess since I've been working with similar stuff.

Funny note: DNS errors were the most common in our Windows 2003 Server park but we baraly had any problems with the DNS services, it was almost always something else. Error codes kinda suck that way. If it's not Linux, then the error code will tell you what went wrong, how you can fix it, give you some postitive feedback on your haircut, give you suggestions on how you can please your wife better and it will also cook you a nice meal of "Feuille translucide de dorade royale".

Why does Sony NEVER EVER prepare for new releases for online connection? WH?

LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2, Metal Gear, SOCOM....all their servers failed with errors for about a month

Why Sony, why are your servers so cheap that they can't hold all of your users?
