^ Topic How do I know this? Cause I just fell victim to it... On Thursday December 18th, I logged onto Home and downloaded the 1.04 patch. I then proceeded to download the theather, and mall. When standing outside of the mall, someone ran up to me and said "hey suck my <bleep>" I replied, "lol reported" and kindly reported him. The report failed to go through thanks to a "server error" message I got, and the theather had finished dling so I just shrugged it off and proceeded inside. When inside I idled in there and turned my attention to my laptop where I surfed the net as I waited for the Resident Evil trailer to download. Turning my head back to my TV a couple times I saw some people approach me and say hey, hi, etc but my keyboard was out of reach and I was on my laptop at the time so I didn't bother saying anything in response. The mall had finished dling so I proceeded there. I ran to the clothes store and bought $3 worth of stuff. I ran around the mall for a couple minutes seeing if there was anything new in the Stuff store, or Home space store, and to check out the new furniture stuff, and then I exited the mall. It should also be noted that I did not interact with anyone in the mall or in the theather. Back in the central plaza I just took a few steps out, and went into my wardrobe to save new avatar layouts, I then ran over to the Resident Evil questions billboard to see what they were and then I logged off of Home. During the time in the CP I didn't type one word. After turning off my PS3, I went out to the stores/mall with my friend, while out I bought a $20 PSN card in preperation of the MGS4 LBP DLC. I came home, went to my PS3, turned it on ready to redeem my card, only to get greeted with You cannot use PLAYSTATION NETWORK with this account.(8002A231). I shut it off that night and just went on my 360 and figured maybe it's a 24 hour error thing...Friday comes along, and still the same error. I call customer service, the kind lady tells me to use email support. And so I did...email support gets back to me and tells me to call customer support...going in circles I called back support today. The first lady I spoke too put me on hold a few times, and then finnally when she put me on hold, I was hung up on. I called back quickly after, 15 minute wait to speak to someone, and speaking to a different lady and repeating the same stuff I've been repeating over and over to reps, she finnally sent this issue to her supervisor where I got to speak to him. Speaking to the supervisor, he told me my account was suspended for "Text Abuse" and I was like "what...how...all I said that day was "lol reported" and I was the one who got harrassed that day ironically..." He asked if I had been on any games or sending messages to people with text abuse and I told him the only online game I played recently was LittleBigPlanet and I was only playing that solo on the PSN, and then Thursday I just went on Home. The good news was, that he told me my ban lifts today at around 4:30 pm est and that I should be able to get back onto the PS Network. -------- tl;dr I got suspended thanks to jerks abusing the report feature, cause apparently saying "lol reported" to someone after they sexually harass you warrants a 4 (5 if you count thursday) day suspension. So beware good people of Home...this can happen to you too...

Man, that sucks! I report people but I NEVER ever say reported, or even let them on a hint that I'm reporting them (WoW Expierences ) But "Lol reported" for Text Abuse is just downright STUPID, seriously i gotta admit. 360? 360 fails, but 360 as a 2nd option for the ps3 is a good idea. Kudos to you.

Wow... that sucks. I'm guessing that the only thing that we can really take from this is: "When you report someone, don't let them know you did it so that they can't retaliate". Ugh. Horrible.

Wow, that's very unfortunately to hear Voozi. Right now, the abusive individuals are the ones ruining HOME and to see them taking advantage of the system like this, makes it even more difficult for me to anticipate logging in every day. Thankfully we still have our HOME spaces and club houses but it's shameful that there's so much negative people out there who jump online with the sole intent to be abrasive towards others. I'm not even sure how these people can be addressed, apperently the zero tolerenace policy isn't scaring them. Message Edited by ClinToN on 12-22-2008 03:18 PM

You are a quality poster on the forum here, and it saddens me that the DEVs took the easy way out with this reporting system. It wouldn't surprise me if I get ousted as well then. I never say I report someone in home, but I would let them know that if push comes to shove I will report as the option of last resort. I would suggest a PM to Cyd of Locust, but I'm sure their inboxes are filled with "great" messages... so they might not get back to you in a very timely fashion.

Sorry to hear that happened. Obviously someone dropped the ball or something else happened. In any case, what I tell people is to never tell the offender they're being reported. That seems to solve a lot of problems right there.
