Why this thread was created On 12/06/07 a discussion took place where, in the course of the discussion, I said this: "I am pretty sure Sony knows full well the state of this forum, and the high level of anticipation for any new statement release. One thing is certain, this forum is rife with speculation, partly due to the lack of official announcements from Sony officials. That being said, it is a fact that Sony has stated, not very long ago even, that they do not comment on rumor or speculation. If this forum shifts its focus from speculation and rumor proliferation to one of a unified cry for an official statement on the status of the open beta, the wish may, just may, be granted... How about it, are you guys up to the task? I know I am!" BF~ Subsequently, inspired by my statement, forum member ID_broncos27 created a thread entitled Home Beta Information Petition thread, which was ultimately locked due to a forum policy prohibiting all petition threads. I considered this matter for a bit, and realized this was a matter that the forum really was concerned about, and there had to be a way to bring this to a head without crossing the line. So, I suggested this thread be created. Shortly after I suggested that, I decided to go ahead and make it myself, since my name around here actually holds some merit with many of the underground members. I was someone they could trust would work hard to get the job done, and so here I am, managing this thread for you all. It is my hope that this thread will bear fruit for you all, so we as a forum can get back to real discussion of the product...and enjoy our little community once again.

Current Thread stats as of 10:25 am Pacific time, 12/22/2007, to page 82 Total Number of consumers supporting this thread: 381 Total number of new members and or first time posters speaking out in this thread: 47 (wow!) Total number of Closed Beta testers supporting this thread: 21 (New stat) Total number of official comments from Phil or Sony officials relating to this threads request: 0 (still waiting, all we need is one) I have gone through great pains to ensure the accuracy of these stats. If a post did not express support, it was not counted, I also cross referenced every name to ensure each poster was only counted once. I double checked my work prior to posting the days results.

BFrosty speaks candidly to Sony, and Mr. Harrison This thread is not intended to step on your toes, and I hope it does not create any ill will from you towards me. I love your products, your services, and most of all your fan base. I do not want to seem as if I think I know better than you, you guys certainly know what's going on with this forum, and your fan base. I don't presume to be anyone important, and I don't expect my lone opinion to matter much, but behind me, are a large cross section of your consumer base who, when added together, make for one heck of a powerful voice. Behind me, are your consumers, each and every one of them asking for a small bit of consideration at the very least. They have joined together as one to cry out in unison "Sony, please hear our plea, we could really use any official statement regarding the "status" of the Playstation Home open beta" For too long now it seems, there has been a lack of real info, which has led to a forum rife with rumor and speculation. It has become very difficult to wade thorough this mess looking for the most relevant information and discussions relating to the anticipation of Playstation Home. It has also created disdain for the product, and some have even gained a lack of faith in your ability to actually pull it off. In short, this forum has become a debacle of major proportions, an PR nightmare, and to get this community back on track, as you know, a little information would be the best remedy at this time. So please, Mr. Harrison, can you authorize at least one official informational update on the status of the Playstation Home open beta, your consumers would really appreciate it.
