New poster here, greetz fellow PS3 owners! i've read ALOT of problems with v2.5 so far, v2.4 bricked my PS3 (remember why they needed v2.41?) So before anyone calls me a "noob" or to "shut up", let me ask this question- has anyone heard ANYTHING OFFICIAL regarding the problems people are having with v2.5? I mean, my friend has already experienced having all his movies play in Black and White, and for some reason his files are all at a different Hz for playback, and my roomate's PS3 now has horrible frame drops when playing the normally smooth burnout Paradise.. It just seems to me that it's about time Sony at least addressed it's customers and let us know they acknowledge the problems and are working on it... is that too much to ask? ok, now get ready for mindless comments ripping on me for not saying "OMG Sony is teh best! 2.5 fw FTW!!!"

this is getting ridiculous! all these threads about fw2.5 issues, and no official word yet? Somone officail that works at Sony - Should i or should i not update if i have a launch 60 gig unit? please let us, your customers, know the situation! is that really too much to ask? thanks!

Still no official word on fw2.5 issues? please, someone at Sony let us know if we should DL the update or wait for a fix! thanks!

I don't know how you people do not like the look of a motion picture behind the xmb.... the video was still pretty clear.... and the sound never stopped before when responding to a message..... it sounds so lonely now when I go to type back to someone... sure, if its a great part in the movie then I would hit the pause button before the PS button... but at least prior to this update... We should have the choice to go back to 2.41, if this is how its gotta be. I dont really care for ANY of the new features....
Sure, it looks cool to have a video playing behind the XMB, but it's really not that useful. But yeah, I guess they should let you choose how you want it to work.

still waiting on an official response..this is crazy! PLEASE somone officail please let us know what's up! is a 2.51 going to come out like you did for 2.4?
