I'm sure sony considers these questions when selecting languages to include on the PS3, including the regions by which the PS3 is sold.
Now correct me if I'm wrong, but are there any countries in the world that have arabic as a primary language that also have PS3's sold that are not imported from sony supported regions?
At present the PS3 Supports 16 different languages all of which are from Regions that sony supports. All from European, Southeast Asian, South American, and of course North American regions. Maybe a few former russian territories in there as well.
So again I have to ask... why does sony need arabic? Of those 16 languages how many of those arabic speaking individuals doesn't speak at least the 3 (2 if you get technical) languages of commerce (English, French, Spanish).
I hate to be less than hospitable here, but we have to be realistic in what we ask sony for, that's coming from an US Citizen that spent his money importing Japanese hardware and software though none of it was in english.

My answer is still going to have to be no. Those 100k of individuals apparently spoke at least one of the languages on the PS3 that is already supported. Sony is also expecting to sell another 300k which means they have faith in the hardware to sell with its current language set.
At 35k PSN users those individuals seem to be the elite few, the 35% of the middle eastern population who even has online access where as the PS3 in other territories is pretty much one to one for account registration. 100k a year is only a fraction of what the other territories reach and handle in market penetration. I think Sony understands that when it comes to those middle eastern territories the only people buying PS3's are the ones that are tieing down jobs that require them to speak English.
Also as far as trophy data is concerned, I could careless about some middle eastern individual with way to much time on his/her hands to score that high on some Non-Sony affiliated site. Chances are if they took the time to really do the math here those top 50 individuals would get punted down into the 17 millionth ranking. That's just based on what I've seen out of the top US and European gamers out there.
You boast the 40% of the Saudi market has already purchased a PS3..... again I ask why support arabic when the remaining 60% is going to be less than a million users.....again nearly half of the audience out there seems just fine with it not supporting arabic.
I'm sorry, but writing a language into the PS3 and highering on the staff necessary to place the language in and translate the menus would cost a good sure of the money sony stands to make sending the PS3s out there in the first place.
To make matters worse their are 17 flavors of arabic when compared to languages like English which only know 2 which are very closely related that it doesn't even matter to consider them different. Then you have those individuals who would be offended if their flavor of arabic hasn't been supported. While the 28 character alphabet seems pretty standard across all flavors the numbers are not with some regions using one of two number sets.
Honestly given the low install base those regions have, I'm surprised sony continues to support the region. However there is growth and maybe one day Arabic will be part of the standard language set in the PS3. As things stand, no dice.

If that do put it in that also need to put klingon. Because klingons rules. Our users will know fear and cower before our software! Ship it! Ship it and let them flee like the dogs they are! If sony had some Kingon programers.

That‘s what I am talking about .. I see so many people in this post don't believe that the Arabs have PS3‘s .. there are so many Arabs in the world have PS3‘s.. If you don't believe me .. Go to ps3trophycard.com And see the top 10 .. You will see the 10th is from UAE ( United Arab Emirates ) .. HOW does he got all the trophies ? .. By The PS3 I think ! .. And I am From KSA ( Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia ) And I got a PS3 .. AND SONY SHOULD SUPPORT ARABIC LANGUAGE Dear SONY:.. I want a convincing reason not to support the Arabic language ?

I'm sorry but 1 person in the top 10 really isn't evidence as to a need for the arabic languages inclusion. Just shows one guy who might live there, speaks arabic, and happens to speak good enough english or one of hte 15 other languages the system supports to get that many trophies.
Also here we are again you're on an english speaking forum writing in english, explain to me why you need arabic if you speak english.
