So what do you think about the new story mode co-op phenomena? Have any ideas of what could happen in the future with this? Give me your thoughts! Argree. Add. Argue. Comment. Discuss. All the fun stuff! I want to know what you think! Message Edited by NinjaZeroEight on 02-26-2009 06:16 AM
To me i think it depends on what games i play. seriously games matters, for example i would not play final fantasy games with a friend because it is a fantasy game, so my feeling towards the story might be completely different from my friends point of view. and i do not want to hear his opinion of how he disliked it if i liked it. it will ruine the mood for me. as for resident evil 5? hmmmmm it is a fiction survival horror game. its more action as well. in these kind of games co op would actually be fun. who wants to be traped in a place full of zombies by them selfs? its a different type of story so it creates a different type of feelings. i would not mind being stuck in a fantasy world by my self like some RPGs because i think they are amazing art works, but a place full of zombies? no thanks, i need a partner.

Personally, I don't see it too likely that all games will move over to all co-op gameplay. Metal Gear solid, God of War, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Folklore, Prince of Persia, Infamous, Spider Man Web of Shadows----all of those are single player games. You do make some good points, as far as not being able to get as much out of the game that you normally would if you were playing single, but the AI is getting better, and better....I mean look at Fawkes from Fallout 3! As a company though, Sony needs to make their product to meet the demand of what people want. If co-op games is what people are screaming for, then that's the direction they need to go. At the same time, however, there are too many people who prefer single player missions for writers to do a complete switch over. That's why co-op is an OPTION. So get whatever game you want, and take your time with it, after all, what co-op game have you played, where you HAVE to have more than 1 player????
Warhawk, one of PS3s best selling titles is online only. Socom also.

I was really looking forward to that game until I found out it was online only. I was thinking a game like that could have an awsome single player story.

Im really glad they didn't make a single player story. Its a 3rd person shooter and everything in the game is there for balance. Each weapon, vehicle, etc has some way to be defeated. It makes for the best online game experience Ive ever had. Many people who play it have logged hundreds even thousands of hours because of how intricate and detailed the combat has been made. A single player 3rd person shooter with somewhat "cartoony" graphics wouldn't have been good to anyone except the avid players of the online. If any of you havent played warhawk yet, you've missed out on PS3's best game

Rest assured, I think that as long as the Half-Life series lives so will single-player gaming. Half-Life may not be the single-player FPS game in history, but it's pretty darn close (and in my opinion it is). Single-player really is fun, and there's nothing like wondering around Cyrodiil shutting down Oblivion gates or looking for bobbleheads in the Capitol Wasteland. And playing with the Gravity Gun in the Citadel is just soo much fun. Multiplayer has really gotten its momentum from the internet. I mean, your friend can't come over, so you just play online instead. Playing with friends is fun (but I prefer strangers in LBP, they're more polite). And you can't say there's nothing cool about the 60-player mayhem in Resistance 2. You could say it's part of being human, being generally social creatures. It was inevitable. There will ALWAYS be single-player.
