I have a 60 GB PS2. Im using a Belkin Pre-N router and Aol as my internet service. I got my router connected wirlessly (100% connectivity), Put in PPPoe for Manual Address setting, put my Username and password, Manually put in the DNS, Manually put in the MTU to 1450, disabled the Proxy server and enabled the UPnP. When i tried to connect the PS3, it gave me the error 80029024 "The attempt to obtain an IP address timed out." I need help fixing this. I've been at it for HOURS. I think i need to do something with the proxy server, but i have no idea what to do. Someone gave me a suggestion to open a port from the router, but i dont know how. They also suggested that the router should not be in "N mode". I dont know what that is. Can anyone help me?

Dont manually put in ANYTHING. Just put auto, or no for screen name and pass required.

I had to update the firmware on my router before it would connect to my PS3 and got the same error as you. Try that.

Motion is the next generation, huh? Why is Sony bringing rumble back? (Sorry motion fanboys)

I had the same prombel with my Lyksis. I had to call their custumer service line to have them walk me through it. But two weeks later I could no longer connect and no one could get me a anwser. so I got rid of it and got a wireless router through my internet provider had them set it up and set it up through my PS3 and now it works great.
