Toxic Ninja updated the script to v0.4, thx Toxic Ninja for this update.
With this update, you no longer have to type long path from psp browser. All you have to do is type your ip address from psp,
for exmaple, if your ip address is 192.168.0.2 then
If you do this correctly, you should see links to your channel. Just click it and add.
READ v03 instruction below to setup directory structure for your music files!
Download pspxml-v04.vbs from here and run the script,
Thx again Toxic Ninja for this update.
pspxml-v03.vbs is here!
This script will create mutltiple channels and multiple xml files. According RSS 2.0 spec, only one channel can be added to xml file. So for people who want more than 100 songs on their RSS and also wants to organize songs by folders, then this script is for you!
First you need to do is to create folders under ../htdocs directory.
Folder name can't have spaces or special characters, so create something like "My_Rock_Channel".
Create as many folders you want and move your music files to folders. Don't put more than 100 songs in a folder because PSP RSS channel can't have more than 100 songs.
When you are done creating folders and moving music files, you need to download this script from this site,
Download the script and move it to ../htdocs directory. After you run the script, the script will create pspxml.xml file under each folder you created. So if you created "My_Rock_Channel" folder, pspxml.xml should be under ../htdocs/My_Rock_Channel/pspxml.xml
All you need to do is browse it from psp browser adding folder name to your path.
for example, if your ip address is 192.168.0.2 then
It should ask you to add channel.
You need to do this for every folder you created.
Good luck!
pspxml-v02.vbs instruction
Now the script supports the following file extension:
mp3
aac
mp4(aac)
m4a
and fixed minor bugs.
pspxml-v02.vbs can be download from here,
download and move the file to ../htdocs directory and you can delete pspxml-v01.vbs now.
Next Update:
To create multiple channels for multiple genres or group, like "Rock Channel", "Rap Channel", "Pop Channel", or "U2 Channel", "My Favorite Channel" by single xml file.
"RSS HowTo v0.5"
The purpose of this "HowTo" is to stream your own mp3 music using Apache server.
I'm assuming you already installed Apache server, if not then go here:
After you sucessfully installed Apache server then do this,
Download the Script
NOTE: DO NOT download the file from any other places. If the link doesn't work, let me know. I'll upload the file again. And use this script at your own risk!
Unzip the file, and move the file(pspxml-v01.vbs) to ../htdocs directory.
Move your mp3 files to ../htdocs directory.
Note: mp3 file name CAN NOT have spaces, hyphens, or any other special characters.
If file name is "my favorite song", you need to change the file name to "my_favorite_song".
You can change mp3 file name using this method as well:
Run the Script
Double click the script(pspxml-v01.vbs).
Note: If you have anti-virus application running, it might prevent you from runnin the script. You need to turn off your anti-virus application.
The script will ask you to enter your local ip address, enter your local ip address then click "ok" button.
You don't have to put "http://" front of your local ip address, just enter your ip address.
For example: 192.168.0.2
If everything ran fine and no error message, you should see a small window that says "Done!". Press "ok" button.
The script should have created a file called pspxml.xml under ../htdocs directory.
For example:
It should ask you to add the channel.
That's it! I hope this howto was lot easier than the first one.
Thanks to vaio2003 for providing the icon and testing the script.
If you don't like the icon that came with this script, you can change the icon by
opening pspxml.xml file using wordpad.
Search for "http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v665/snowcrash
007/rssicon.jpg" this, and replace with your icon.
Note: Don't use icon on your computer, icon has to be on internet.
If you have problem running the script, let me know!
