I UPDATED THIS THREAD BECAUSE IV'E SEEN SOME THREADS WITH QUESTIONS ABOUT THE CAM. AND CAUSE IM STILL GETTING SOME PM'S ABOUT THE CAMERA FEEL FREE TO PM ME WITH YOUR QUESTIONS IF THERE NOT ALREADY COVERED IN THIS THREAD.

Just got my new Chotto Shot (PSP Camera) in the mail. I ordered it from Play-Asia for $49.90. Shipping is only like $5 but I'm impatient and ordered the fastest shipping for $20. I ordered it on the 1st and recieved it on the 3rd.

Link to Camera:

http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-9f-49-en-15-chotto%2Bshot-70-
1l0e.html

INFO:

  • Camera requires 2.80 and comes with firmware update 2.82 on the Edit UMD.
  • A CHOTTO_SHOT folder is created in the VIDEO and PHOTO folders making it easy to transfer the media to your pc.
  • Videos are 15 seconds long and are saved in your Album on the Edit UMD you can enter your album and convert your videos to Motion JPEG (It says they are converted to AVI but ther really convereted to Motion JPEG.) After converting it will then add your video to the CHOTTO_SHOT folder in the VIDEO folder.
  • You must have the Edit UMD to take pictures or video without the UMD you can ot use the camera.
  • The Edit UMD is part English. The main things you need to know are in Englsih but pretty much all the editing is Japanease but I got the hang of it very quickly and already remember what all the things do. Agian its not hard its actually kinda fun finding out what everything means.
  • Also if you do get the camera and have difficulties finding out how to do thing PM me and I'll help you to the best of my knowledge.

Pic of Main Menu (photo taken with webcam.)

CAMERA FEATURES:

  • Digital zoom.
  • Swivels to face user or away from user.
  • Mic on the side of Camera.

PHOTO FEATURES:

  • Night mode.
  • Photos can be taken in 480x272 or 640x480 resolution.
  • Set a timer on photos so photos can be automatically taken 5, 15, 30, or 60 seconds after pressing the circle button.
  • Can have a "Narrator" I guess you could say countdown how much time you have left untill your automatic photo will be taken.
  • There are 5 sound effects for when snapping a photo: the standard camera sound, a gunshot sound, some weird cartoon-like sound, a sound ressembling the uncorking of a bottle, and a sneezing sound.
  • One of my favorite features is the "Dogwatch" feature I believe it's called. When set in "Dogwatch" mode you can set the camera in a desired place and when something passes it it automatically takes a photo. Its pretty funny when you set it in dogwatch mode you hear a dog howl and when something passes it the dog barks and takes a photo. LOL.

VIDEO FEATURES:

  • Night mode.
  • Option to automatically take a photo every .5, 1, 10, or 30 seconds. It then compiles these pictures into a 15 second video.
  • Option to let you take 450, 90, 15, or 4 pictures whenever you want no time limit then it compiles them into a 15 second video.

SLIDESHOW FEATURES:

  • Has a calander.
  • 3 backround music's. Able to listen to while viewing photos or videos in slideshow.
  • 4 special ways to go from pic-to-pic / movie-to-movie such as fade out or fade out and spin. No special way is also an option.
  • 4 different times in which the photo's switch. 5, 15 seconds or 1, 10 minutes. No time is also an option.
  • Option to display date when photo was taken.

Camera in Case. (photo taken with webcam.)

Mic on the side of Camera. (photo taken with webcam.)

HOW IT WORKS:

  • Again you need the Edit UMD to take pics or videos I myself thought you could just attatch and something would pop up on the XMB but no you have to use the UMD. Also using USB Connection does nothing it just says please connect a USB cable.

WHAT IT COMES WITH:

  1. PSP Camera
  2. PSP Camera Case (Hard Plastic)
  3. Editing Software (Half Japanease Half English Kinda Difficult Takes A While to Get Used To.)
  4. Software Manual (All Japanease), First Step Guide(All Japanease), and the Camera Attachment Instructions (Section for English)

THESE PHOTOS WERE TAKEN WITH THE PSP CAMERA.

Took picture in the mirror. (A bit of a glare since its a close up in the mirror.)

Hard Plastic Case.

The Edit UMD.

The Manuals.

Some of the packaging stuff.

EDITED PICS:

These pics are from gamespot I did not take this photos. And these ones give you a good idea of what you can do.

SAMPLE VIDEO:

Heres a video I uploaded to photobucket. Photobucket changed the size so it looks fuzzy but on the PSP the videos seriously look really really good I was suprised at how good the video quality was.

If you really feel like it and want to see a clearer version of this vid you can download it here.

MY REVIEW:

  • Yes I think this product is worth the money its a fun little camera you can take with you wherever you take your PSP.
  • It takes pretty good pics has really good videos with good sound qaulity.
  • If I wanted a hella good camera I would of bought one but I wanted a fun accessory for my PSP.
  • I would deffinately reccomend this camera to skaters becuase it doesn't take longer then 15 seconds to video yourself kickfliping some stairs and what not.
  • Also I love this camera because I can skate to my friends house while listening to music on my PSP then we all go skate and can take videos of your tricks and no one is complaining about who's holding the camera. This thing seriously fits in that key pocket thing thats inside your pocket on your jeans.

NOTE: I Took the pics off, made a new photobucket account, uploaded the pics agian, and then re-posted them due to the maxed out bandwidth on my other photobucket account.

Just got the chotto shot (PSP Camera) in the mail its AWESOME. Here some pics and info for people looking forward to purchasing this. And yes I would recomend it.

Heres a pic of the packaging stuff.

Heres a pic of the camera itself. Its way tiny I thought it would be bigger.

Ohh and I have no other camera beside this one or else I woulda used a different one but I didn't so I just took a picture of the mirror.

But the camera requires 2.80 and it comes with the 2.82 update on the photo editing umd it comes with. Also you can only take picture while your using the photo edit umd. I was stupid and thought you just pop it on and start taking pictures. But yeah I hope this info is useful and I would reccomend the camera. Feel free to ask qeustions about the cam.

another thing the photo editing umd is kinda half half english japanease but for the most part its understandable.

sorry for the sloppy writing Im typing fast.

Awsome man, how does the video work?
