Sorry if this has been posted before but in addition to the other 3 new colors (makes that a total of 6 colors), Japan will also be getting this limited edtion PSP (by Square Enix) on September 13, 2007 for 25,890 yen (tax included) or around $212. Here are some pics (click on them for larger images): (<< if you look closely at this picture, you'll notice the limited edition sequential number) Only 77,777 units will be made and each bundle will also come with a FF strap which is btw, NOT a hand strap. And also for a limited time, if you were to pre-order this from either Square Enix's or Sony's own web site, you'll also get this cool, retractable headset with FFVII 10th Anniversary logo: Looks pretty cool if I may say so, the buttons are also different than the stock ones (clear with a tint of smoke in them) and I don't know but it was mentioned that the limited edition will be "silver and black" design (shoulder buttons and the trim that wraps around the PSP are black). Play-Asia will start taking pre-order pretty soon ( link). Here's a case to go with limited edition PSP: BTW, this case is sold separately and will cost around $82 (just for the case). Updated with some new pics: And some more dissected pics of the limited edition
New slim PSP Below are some more pics of those 3 new colors (they exclusively are called the Blume series or "Flower Images" ) for the PSP lineup in Japan and also a link to official Sony website (SCEJ) with TV tuner which apparently will only work in Japan due to different technology being used. Please scroll down for more info regarding the TV tuner.
Also a few things about the new PSP (which some of you probably know already), it will support USB charging, slimmer battery (1200 MAh and weighs 30 grams), processor maxes out at 333 Mhz, main memory is 64 MB and also supports the same 802.11b Wi-Fi protocol. The PSP itself is 33% lighter, 19% thinner & also there's a memory buffer function to reduce the game load time (copy the contents from UMD, dump them on memory stick to help speed up game's load time). These new colors below will be available on September 20 (Japan). (<< only these 3 new colors are called the "Blume series" )

1st announcement for the colors (to be released in US): - Piano Black
- Ceramic White
- Ice Silver
2nd batch (Blume series to be released in Japan): - Rose Pink
- Lavender Purple
- Felicia Blue
And yup, the new PSP is definitely thinner and lighter. Here are some comparison shots (click on them for larger pics):

New accessories And here are some "new" accessories to go with the newly announced PSPs: New slim battery (no price has been annouced yet). Also there is some "speculation" going around that you'll be able to use the old (regular size) battery on the new PSP and that Sony will release a slightly larger battery cover to accomodate it.
New headset with remote control (cost 2,800 yen or around $23) will go on sale on September 13 (Japan). It was also mentioned that both of them will be smaller and weigh less than the original ones.

Different AV connections: D-Terminal connection (2,800 yen or around $23)

Component AV cable (same price as the one above)

S-video cable (2,200 yen or around $18)
AV cable (same price as the one above)
TV tuner 1 SEG Tuner (official name). It will use ISDB-T broadcasting format (digital) which is currently being used in Japan and also isn't available everywhere as of now. It only weighs 17 grams and uses the USB connection (same as the camera). It's priced at 6,980 yen (tax included) or around $57 and will be released on September 20 in Japan and on the spec sheet, it also requires MS to be in your PSP for the tuner to operate. <-- 3.60 is a beta firmware released just for the display model (for now)

Hole on the left hand side is for external antenna but so far Sony hasn't announced any plan to release one anytime soon.
Here's a pic of channels selection:
Show time:
Details (of the show):
On the last note, that new headset & remote control, all the new AV cables and the 1 SEG Tuner (TV tuner) will ONLY work with the new PSP (according to the official SCEJ website) and also Sony (Japan) has no plan of releasing firmware support for the old PSP (to use TV tuner).
Connecting to a TV
<-- New Ape Escape game (Sarugetchu Saru Saru Daisakusen) released in Japan on 7/26/07
The resolution you see here (when playing on a TV) for UMD games is 480 x 272. And for those of you who checks this thread, the next firmware update for the PSP (in Japan) should be released sometimes in early September to fix some issue with Bio Hazard: Director's cut downloaded from PSN. Perhaps it'd be the same (date) for U.S. firmware. Also here's the link to the new PSP's manual ---> Quick Reference and Safety and Support. New brochure for the Blume series (new PSP) and 1 SEG Tuner (in Japanese).
And these are some of my own pics of the new slim PSP (Blume series):

The blue color is a really nice shade of "baby blue". The pink one with the case belongs to my g/f. These pics are taken indoor on an overcast weather. The couple of pictures are taken with flash on. I'll try to take some more pics to show the true color of this "Felicia blue".
