I hope so. But still. Now all the older PSP games will look like crap on this PSP? R&C is not that old either. I am very very upset about this. The new screen looks terrible compared with the 2000.
The lack of ghosting is good, and the wider color gamut is nice,  but the big black lines running through the screen are just inexcusable and absolutely ruin it. Even iPod screens make this look bad.
I cannot believe how stupid it was to trade in my perfectly new 2000 for this. I paid more money for a worse screen.

GUYS, calm down. I am not missing anything.

-I have played about 10 PSP games today I tried all of them out on my PSP 3000. God of War looks unbelievable, nothing is wrong with it.

-About one, Ratchet and Clank, I noticed had some fuzzy lines for a very short period of time. (This usually happens anyway!)

-I have scanned, looked, and totally discerned the fabulous new screen I have, and it is flawless.

I don't know what yours looks like, but mine is fine and it is definitely not on all 3000s.

I have played all of my games, my huge collection to see the differences. Even the ones I got off the playstation store look great. I am not sure whats going on but I don't have the lines you are referring to. I would take it back and see if your next one is like that. I can tell you my new one doesn't.

I think the people who are not seeing it don't know what to look for.

But anyways, I am not trying to say the screen is unusable, but the scanlines are there, and on the 1000 and 2000 they were not. That's just the facts. It's not my PSP, it's all of them.

The problem also seems to manifest itself in the the form of strange interlacing issues in R&C. At least the first part of the game that I played. I am sure other games will exhibit this behavior, I have not had time to try others yet.

There are reports coming in from all over about the scanlines issue. Many people, especially those accustomed to the 1000 and 2000 screens, notice it.

I wish I kept my 2000. A little ghosting is a small trade off for a much smoother, scanline-less image.

Okay, you are still the only person I have heard complain, and I don't know what you mean by scanline: a blurry line? Those are always on PSP it's just the graphics. A Framerate meltdown? I mean what the heck am I looking for I has scoured every thousandth of an inch of my new psp and there are no defections. Therefore, you are either half blind, or yours is just messed up. Show someone else who has a psp your problem and see what they say.

It's hard to explain what a scanline is without showing you. And it is also kind of hard to explain the strange interlacing issues I saw in R&C without being able to show you. To be honest I don't feel like going through the whole thing of typing out an explanation and putting up pics. Just trust me man, it's there.
Hey look on the bright side, since you don't see the faults, and you are happy with it, then that's great! Ever seen the movie Shallow Hal?

He's not blind or alone. i'm having the same problem. i think the best way to describe it it's that the screen looks waaaaay too sharp. Also everything has lines and jaggies. i have tried playing DJMAX 1 & 2 which have animated scenes and even those have jaggies and lines on them. This would not happen with the PSP 1000 or 2000. :/ You can also tell by just moving around on the XMB, you'll notice that the icons have lines when you move left and right on the XMB. Oh and if you really wanna see the lines then leave the default wallpaper on to a bright color and look at the background.

On DJ Max I can't see what your talking about. I own both and I didn't see it. I tried the background thing and I see what you mean but it hardly bothers me. It doesn't appear nearly as much for me as I guess its doing for you. Not really sure whats going on here.

OK I just finished playing God of War on the PSP-3000 and it's a mess. The interlacing issues are even worse than in R&C.

Oh my God what has Sony done. I hope this is fixable in firmware, and SOON.
