I am having a really hard time getting my connection with remote play to work through the internet.
(I can get it to work through the “Connect via private network”)

When I try to “Connect via Internet”, I am able to get through my router, and I get the Sign in to PLAYSTATION Network.
I put in my Sign-in ID (email address)
I put in my Password.

If I am able to get to that screen on my PSP then that means I can hook up to the PS3.
I know this is true because when I click “Sign In “, My PS3 actually turns on and goes into the Remote Play screen but then I get the error messages on my PSP.

First I get this message on my PSP:
A connection error has occurred.
The connection to the PS3 system has timed out.

I try and re connect through the internet and then I get this:
A connection error has occurred.
(80010068)

I have these ports open on my Linksys wireless router.

TCP 80
TCP 443
TCP 5223
UDP 3478
UDP 3479
UDP 3658

Remote Play & Gaming Required Ports
TCP 80
TCP 443
TCP 5223
TCP 9293
TCP 10070-10080
UDP 3478
UDP 3479
UDP 3658
UDP 10070

I have:
IPSec Passthrough: Enabled
PPTP Passthrough: Enabled
L2TP Passthrough: Enabled

DMZ: Enabled

UPnP: Enabled

Any help would be much appreciated.

Kudos!

OK, so I'm not one to bump a message but it has been 5 days and still no help.
I am on the verge of selling my PSP because no matter what I do it wont work.
This feature is the only reason I bought the PSP in the first place.

Anyone willing to help?

Same problem here.  I can connect to my PS3 fine via direct wireless connection when I'm at home... but even trying to run remote play via the internet - i can't get to it.

I have everything set correctly on my router - but no luck.

I am testing this feature out so i can show my brother my PS3 when I'm at his house - via my PSP.

I have my wifi connection setup properly and can do everything online with my PSP - but i can't connect to my PS3 via the internet - only through a direct connection (PSP to PS3 wifi).

Anyone?

Not sure if you solved this.  I also have been having a lot of problems connecting through remote play.  I am find on my home network, but for the longest time I could never connect via internet.  I had the same issues you were noting.  I went through a bunch of the threads on the site and the best results I got was the whole re-linking the psp and ps3.  Now I can remote play from another location via internet as long as my PS3 is on and in remote play mode.  I can't figure out how to get it to turn on via internet (I can do this on my home lan).

I'm not sure if this will fix your problems but ut's worth a shot.

Make sure that port 9293 is forwarded to your PS3's static IP (make sure it has a static IP).
Start remote play while you are at home and then start folding using the PSP.
Stop remote play but leave the PS3 folding.
Try and remote play from another location.

I can usually get my PS3 to remote start but it generally takes 2 tries. The first try actually turns it on but the connection times out before it can complete the connection.

dpadur , welcome to the boards.
