Okay, take a look at the end that came out, one side should have silver contacts on it, and the other side should have a blue plastic tab on it to help with inserting into the connector. Grab that blue plastic tab and insert straight into the connector, just push it in... may even help to use needle-nose pliers. My only problem is, I don't know how to push the ribbon cable into that tiny slot...cause its flimsy and stuff..

Ok, I did this, and the lights in the front still don't turn on and the whole system doesn't turn on period. If I recall, when I was trying to fix it earlier, I think the blue tab got stuck somewhere, and I pulled on it kind of hard, and when I finally got it out, I saw there's like a dark line across the blue tab, and like the top of the blue tab is glued/attached to the silver lining side UNTIL this line. Well, the blue tab got peeled off a bit from this line, meaning like...the top of the blue tab isn't attached to the silver lining side as much as it should be (or as much as it was earlier) Could I possibly use tape to stick it together or should I invest in another ribbon cable?

ebay sells new ribbon cables for like 5-12$...as for controller port cables ebay might have them if not message me and i will give you a site where you can buy one.i had to buy a new one..just make sure you know what version your ps2 is so you get the correct cable. i had the same problem last year with one of my fat ps2s..i replaces the cable and it works fine now.
