Hi there,
Just moved from Ireland an brought my P.S.2 in toe, when I Hooked it up to the T.v. the sound works perfectly but the picture is distorted, Is there anything I can do to fix it? also, anyway I can get U.S. games to work on it??

1) Your PAL PS2 outputs the video signal in PAL format (no duh, right?).  TVs in the US can only accept video in NTSC format.  Therefore, to get your PAL PS2 to work on a US TV you need a PAL -> NTSC video signal converter.  Do a google search and you'll find out all about them.  Keep in mind, that cheap converters will give you a low quality image on the TV screen.

2) PAL PS2s can, legally, only play PAL games.  Therefore, to play US PS2 games you'll need to buy a US PS2.

Some PAL games do have an NTSC video output mode, labeled as 60 Hz in the display selection menu. A lot are 50 Hz only though, and the system interface is stuck in the video mode of the region it is designed for. For anything you can't set to 60 Hz, you need a converter, as mentioned in the previous post. You'll also need to import any games you want to use on that console from Europe, at the higher price they pay for games there, plus the shipping cost and any export taxes.
