Maybe we can get a tips thread going here.
So let's start...

You have to unlock parts of the game, just like GT, and you can do that just by killing time, say, by playing on-line or by playing some other aspect of the game you like. Playing the career mode (probably starting with go-karts) also works, of course.

Cheers,

I've never played, but I don't think you use money or credits to buy cars.  Maybe to unlock parts of the game though...

Testing is what I'll be doin for many days, weeks and who knows with this new version, there wont be any online play for me for a long time I'm thinkin, to many classes to test and to many game changes in regard to features and sensitivity to jump in and play online, there will be much screamin and many crashes online I'm thinkin LOL

I'll be lookin for tips on all fazes of this new game and expressing any I come across that might help someone, a tip thread locked would be nice, if we had a ToCA3 Only board that might work! Duh!

For anyone who already has the game:

How is the tuning?  Is it realistic, or is it more of an arcade feature  to help control the cars?  I didn't try tuning in the demo, as I was afraid it would time out on me and I wouldn't get to run a full lap.

By the way.....when running NASCAR at Indianapolis, its fun to see how far down the track you can get your front wheels to fly down the track by ramming the Pit Entrance Barrier after coming out of turn 4!!!:smileyvery-happy::smileyvery-happy:

You need a minimum of 210K free on your memory card, for the game save.

You get two free "cheat codes", one for a nitrous boost and the other for unlocking the cut scenes, when you register the game at CodeM.

Don't forget to get your car in gear, at the start of a standing start race.

You can unlock tracks with on-line play, based on laps completed. "Online play does unlock content, not really based on success, just on laps completed." RFT

Be careful about the Autosave feature. If you are in the midst of a long championship and want to quit racing for a while, don't retire or you will be out of the championship. After an Autosave, just turn off the console or play another game. Then, when you start ToCA again, you can continue after the last race you saved.

I am not going to count the parts, but there is a different system to adjusting cars in ToCa 3.

There are a limited number of "slots" that each part you use takes up, so you have to pick and choose wisely which ones to use. A stronger turbo or better computer, for example, will use up more slots than weaker ones. Some parts take up more slots in general, too (computers take up more slots than exhausts). Getting the best performance out of a ToCA car will now be a different procedure than what you went through in GT. You just can't pile all of the best parts into the one car. You need to think and plan.

Cheers,

That sounds like an interesting concept for tuning.  It seems to me (just pondering) that there are only so many parts you can fit on any one car at a time anyway.  I don't think there are many 900hp street cars running around out there.  Especially the street cars that are featured in the other game with its dedicated board here on Playstation Underground!!!!:smileysurprised::smileywink:
