Serious crashing problems today?

I was really excited when my PS3 Slim arrived today and the first thing I wanted to play was Uncharted. Here is what I did. Start PS3 Upgrade to FW3.0 Put in Uncharted disk and install update Play! It was all going wonderfully until I got to the part after the U-Boat where Elena rejoins you and you shoot some guys. Every time I get to the room after you climb up the wall and you learn to shoot from hanging postion the PS3 freezes completely and I have to restart it to do anything. I've tried this 4 times now same thing every time. I found this thread of people having the same problem at different parts of the game: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=932984&to
pic=51176503 (spoilers in this link) all of them seem to have this problem from today. Any ideas on what exactly is causing this? I really hope Sony can resolve this soon, as a new PS3 owner this has left a bad impression. EDIT: It's a brand new copy of Uncharted, Platinum PAL version by the way. First of all..... Put a BIG SPOILER ALERT in your title. It has some, you know!!! My advice is, delete the game-data (not your save-date!!!). Reinstall the patch and try again. Might be a bug between the latest FW update and the patch.

I'm having the same issue too! I guess it's just a problem with the PS3 update,because I got the game yesterday(new copy),I installed the game update,and then played for almost 2 hours straight without any problems.But today,I downloaded the new PS3 update,then started playing Uncharted,and it was fine for maybe 20-30mins or so then froze,tried again later,got past the section I froze at,but then froze soon after getting to the next chapter.And I tried installing the game patch again,started up the game and it froze like 10seconds in,tried again and got past to the start of the next chapter and it froze a little ways in.

I'm having the exact problem, Finished the story or Normal a few days ago, started it again on Hard, got to chapter 11............ Today I updated to 3.00 and since then I have been getting random, yet continuous freezes, and I am now unable to finish it on Hard without rebooting my PS3 dozens of times. Please note, this game has never froze on me before and I am quite worried that it won't be fixed because the sequel is on the way and most people have already played and sold there copies.
