Well, I thought I'd list out all the weapons from Killzone 2 with some descriptions since there really aren't any great ones out there :smileyhappy:

If I miss a few or have any misinformation, do tell.

Some quick info before you read:

StA = Stahl Arms

VC = Visari Corp

All damage info from the campaign is based on the Trooper (Normal) difficulty.

ISA M82 Assault Rifle

 ISA M82-G Assault Rifle

The standard issue Assault Rifle of the ISA forces. Just like before, this trusty old favorite values accuracy, damage, and low recoil over  rate of fire, and it features a bullpup design. The rifle suffers from a relatively low magazine capacity (Just 30 rounds in Killzone 2) so it isn't uncommon to see soldiers taping their ammunition for faster reloading. Its been tweaked a bit since we last saw it. Although pictured above with a 203 attatchment, Guerilla Games earlier confirmed at Playstation Day in London that secondary fire has been removed from the series, so no more grenade launchers. Some pictures have shown flashlight attatchments and foregrips in its place, but there has been no word if those will impact gameplay. It now comes packed with an ironsight, although you might find that useless with the new green tinted reflex scope mounted on top. You'll see most ISA Regulars euipped with this rifle.

Field Manual Instructions (Campaign): This is the weapon you'll begin every mission with, and ammo should be plenty as long as there are dead ISA grunts around with magazines to spare. This is your go-to, one size fits all weapon. If you're heading into new territory with no idea of what dangers to expect, I'd pack an M82. The first thing you need to know is that it's accurate. Whether you're using crosshairs, no crosshairs, or the Eotech scope, you're gonna kill something--provided your aim is good. Recoil is pretty minimal, and almost non-existant when pulling the sights up. If you're firing from the hip, I'd reccomend 3-5 shot bursts. Zoomed in? Try to keep it anywhere from 4-7, or any number of shots that it takes to kill the Higg. The reloads are pretty standard for this gun; not too long, but not short.

Campaign Demonstration

Field Manual Instructions (Online Play): First things first, soldier, fire in short, controlled bursts! This rifle packs a hell of a punch and is one of the most accurate weapons in use, so utilize it correctly. Your "from the hip" crosshairs should be fine for shooting anything or anyone from short-medium range, but for those precise hits on targets far away or partially concealed, useyour Eotech sights! The dot is perfect for lining up a good headshot, just make sure not to hold onto the trigger for too long or recoil will get the best of you and throw your aim off. Learn when to reload; you can't reload instantly, so you may not want to do so after every firefight. However, you don't want to get caught going into a battle on empty. My advice is to reload if you know the coast is clear, or when the pitch of the rifle changes (this signifies that your magazine is nearly depleted). Crouch whenever possible.

RevolverTHEY SPINNING
ISA M4 Revolver

The sidearm that you'll initially carry on your missions as an ISA Legionnaire. Details on this little weapon are scarce, but videos suggest that it carries 7 rounds before you are forced to reload, and it seems to kill most Helghast troopers in 2-3 shots. One preview states that the gun carries an unlimited amount of ammunition, so let loose all you like but be wary of the tough kickback (please don't try and dual wield a couple of these guys!). Killzone vets will remember the semi-automatic M4 pistol from the first game; this seems to be a revolving version.

Field Manual Instructions (Campaign): You'll begin your missions with this handgun and cannot switch it out for anything but a StA-18. Thus, you'llhave this thing at your disposale for much of the campaign. Of course, being an ISA weapon, it's extremely accurate. The sights aren't the best so you may want to stick with the crosshair for this one. Typically, a full health Helghast troop will be downedby its rounds in 3 shots, but there's just one problem; considerable recoil  low fire rate, only 6 rounds per reload. This will slow you down in the heat of battle, so its reccomended that you save this weapon for finishing baddies off when reloading your primary could take too long. If you want to hit the same target over and over again, wait a second after each shot for the barrel to go down, and then pull the trigger. No need tobe conservative with ammo here; you have infinite sidearm rounds.

Campaign Demonstration (WARNING: ATAC FIGHT SPOILERS)

Field Manual Instructions (Online Play): First off, congratulations on unlocking this beast of a handgun! Now to business; by now you've gotten used to the fast firing of the StA-18. Well, throw the those techniques out the window because the M4 is a whole 'nother monster. Gone is the high magazine capacity and the quick firing rate, but now your rounds are even more lethal. 1 or 2 shots from the revolver should be enough to down your enemies, but make sure you hit your target! There's a slight pause between each time you can fire, so if you miss more than twice you're likely to be a goner. Make the first shot count, and as always, crouch!

ISA Rocket Launcher

ISA M80 Rocket Launcher

Ahh, the n00b tube, a favorite of explosive junkies.  A scope has been attatched for all you rocket launcher sharp shooters out there. Zoom in and you'll find a green tinted lense with crosshairs through the middle, very much like you'd find on a sniper rifle. Surprisingly, it has very little blowback, but your enemies shouldn't underestimate its huge blast radius.

Campaign Demonstration (Note: Ths footage is old, outdated, and NOT fully representational of the current M80!)

Field Manual Instructions (Online Play): There seems to be a longer pause between rockets fired than its Helghan counterpart, so don't miss! Master that, and simply pointing and shooting can lead to the enemy team's destruction; just try not to frag your own men! Be wary, this thing wieghs a ton.

M13 Semi-auto Shotgun

 ISA M13 Semi-automatic Combat Shotgun

A double barreled combat shotgun used by ISA forces for close encounters of the Helghast kind, this thing hurts. In Killzone 1, you were able to use secondary fire to discharge both barrels at the same time, but since secondary fire is not returning it is likely we won't be able to do this in KZ2. . Natko uses this weapon throughout the campaign. Some have noted similarities between the real Spas 12 Combat shotgun and the M13.

Campaign Demonstration:

Field Manual Instructions (Online Play): This is one weapon that takes practice, handling, finesse, and great tactics to really bring the pain to your enemies without being killed in the process. First and foremost, this thing is best used in close quarters; close enough, and it can kill in one tightly grouped blast. If you're too far, it can take upwards of 2-3, depending on whether or not you handle the recoil with care. Try to manuver carefully when wielding this weapon; stick to tight corridors and buildings, and if you must go outside, stick to the shadows only to surprise the foe with lead. Click the zoom buttons and a flashlight comes on.

TyrantLMG
ISA M1 LMG 'TYRANT'

A stripped down version of the M224A3 that trades in a missle launcher for lighter weight and better manoeuvrability. The M1 is a standard for ISA strike force squads and ideal for putting down a lot of supressive, heavy fire. Its accuracy isn't the greatest but you most likely won't be getting back up if you're hit with a bullet that came from a Tyrant.  Rico is shown carrying his gun of choice from Killzone: Liberation during the invasion of Phyrrus. Many have noted similarities between this gun and the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon.

Field Manual Instructions (Campaign): COMING AFTER RELEASE

Campaign Demonstration

Field Manual Instructions (Online Play): Of the two LMGs, the Tyrant has the slower fire rate, but packs a more devestating punch per bullet and also has an ironsight. The ammo box size is very large, and reloads are slower than most, so you can bear with not inserting in more ammo after each kill. It can be fairly accurate when shooting a still or predictable target from short to medium range while you're crouching, but iron sights are highly reccomended.

Online Demonstration (0:30...NOTE: This is a beta video that shows a simple zoom for the weapon. The full game gives it ironsights!)

 Helghast

Sta-52 LAR

Helghast StA-52 LAR

The StA-52 Light Assault Rifle is the standard issue weapon for most Helghast troops. It's famous for its blistering rate of fire and extremely high ammo capacity for an AR, 60 rounds. The weapon is a bit lacking in the accuracy and damage departments, but it excells in short to medium range combat with its relentless and quick delivering rain of bullets. It uses drum type magazines and a bullpup design. The Helghast Forces have revised the weapon recently, making it a smaller firearm overall, with a shorter barrel length that ditches the scope for an iron sight. Smoke, or some kind of gas, emits from the barrel after every shot and can block a target if you look down the iron sights, so be wary. A Carbine version of the gun built for tighter urban warfare in the streets of Helghan? Most likely. With secondary fire out of the picture, the LAR has opted for a foregrip rather than a shotgun attatchment. Many have noted similarities between this gun and the real life FAMAS.

Field Manual Instructions (Campaign): Of the two Assault Rifles, the StA-52 is definitely the harder one to master. It's not as versatile as the M82, so you can't bring it everywhere and expect to do just fine. The major quirks that you'll need to recognize with this gun is range and recoil. It can only really effectively fire at short and medium range. As you get farther and farther away from your target, you'll need to shorten the bursts to accomadate for recoil. 2-4 shots per burst is my reccomendation. Use the ironsights for medium ranges; you'll be fairly accurate and have smaller shot groups. The rifle does extremely well in tight quarters or when bumrushing the enemy's cover. You'll also never have trouble finding ammo; every standard Higg packs this weapon. Overall, you may want to find something else if you're looking to pick Helghast off from a safe distance, but if you need an incredible offensive gun at a moment's notice, look no further (you won't have to with them all lying around) than the StA-52 Light Assault Rifle.

Campaign Demonstration

Field Manual Instructions (Online Play): The first thing you need to know about the LAR is that it CANNOT be handled like the M82; they may both be assault rifles but they vary greatly. As it was said before, this rifle sacrifices accuracy and damage for high fire rate and drum capacity. Use this to your advantage! Treat the weapon like an SMG on steroids; in close to medium range combat, where players are packed tightly and fighting room to room, the StA-52 excels and will absolutely decimate the M82 in a 1v1. Its extremely high fire rate is unmatched and makes up for the weaker damage per round. Anything beyond medium range combat, you are advised to make use of the ironsights, which can seem crude compared to the Eotech on your enemy's rifle. Just remember to fire in bursts, or the recoil will get the best of you and send you to the respawn screen quicker than you can say "I missed!"

smg

Helghast StA11 SMG

This compact sub machine gun is a favorite amongst Helghast shock troopers. The weapon was designed soley for close quarters combat, so don't try sniping anybody with this one. Like the StA-52, it relies on a fast barrage of bullets to eliminate the enemy, rather than stopping power alone. Unfortunately the magazine capacity isn't as high as the HGH assault rifle, and the recoil it generates is undesirable, especially when aiming with ironsights. Many have noted similarities between this SMG and the real life PP-19 Bizon.

Field Manual Instructions: COMING AFTER RELEASE

Campaign Demonstration (0:50)

Field Manual Instructions (Online Play): You will not be making pot shots at distant enemies with this weapon. It is strictly reserved for killing your opponent up close, and fortunately the Sabotuer class helps you do exactly that. Close in on your target, preferably from behind, and shock them with the blistering rain of bullets from your StA-11. One burst, provided that you crouch while shooting, will be enough to put someone down; however, you must note that a "burst" is longer than that from an assault rifle. The bullets are weaker than the ones from the rifle, with less stopping power, so it is advised that you don't miss, and that you're swift in your kill. Fortunately, reloads are fast enough to ensure a chance of survival on the field in the case of an empty mag during a firefight.

St14 Rifle

Helghast StA14 Semi-automatic Rifle

A class of weapon completely new to the Killzone series, the St14 Rifle goes against most norms in Helghast weaponry. True, it features the traditional bull pup and drum magazine design favored by the mutant forces. However, the rifle is intended for medium to long range combat, boasting very high accuracy and stopping power. It has iron sights that look a bit like the real life WW2 'hero' M1 Garand, and even better, very little recoil. Its only drawback is a low magazine capacity of 8 rounds--like the Garand.

Field Manual Instructions (Campaign): The StA-14 is a beast of a defensive weapon in the single player campaign. It's got awesome stopping power, pinpoint accuracy, and good ironsights. When you get your hands on one, you'll want to pair it up with the cover system. Find a decent peice of cover where all your enemies are in front of you and have a hard time flanking. Standard Helghast will go down in 2 bodyshots, but you'll want to go for a headshot, as ammo is limited (8 per magazine). Plus, their heads explode, and that never gets old! I reccomend ducking behind cover, lining up your shot with crosshairs (if you're going HUDless, this should still be an easy task; just aim at the middle) and pressing the fire button to quickly pop up and dole out a one-hitter-quitter. You'll duck back into cover and repeat the process, popping out for every kill until everyone's dead. The StA-14 is a bit of a rarity, so user your shots wisely, and don't try to get agressive with it; utilize the cover system to get the most out of the gun.

Campaign Demonstration (1:41)

Field Manual Instructions (Online Play): Depending on your ability to cope with the soley semi-automatic firing mode for this weapon, the StA-14 can be an all-purpose firearm. Obviously, as a battle rifle, it excels in medium-long range combat. Its almost too easy to line up the tiny crosshairs (fire from the hip and crouch, you'll be amazed!) and hit a far away target, or hit up the ironsights for the perfect headshot; after all, it did go on to be remodled as a sniper rifle. More interestingly, though, is its effectiveness in close-medium range firefights. This beast can knock a full health soldier down in 2 hits to the upper chest, and often times your opponent has no chance. If your aim is true and your timing perfect, you'll easily pull out wins in 1v1s with assault rifles, SMGs, and LMGs. One of the only weapons that will give you serious trouble up against a StA-14 in close range is the shotgun. Be wary of the reload times though--they can get pretty lengthy in the heat of battle. Have at least 3-4 rounds ready before heading into the next room, and DONT MISS, or you may be screwed by the 8 round ammo capacity.

 HGH Rocket Launcher

Helghast VC9 Rocket Launcher

The ISA aren't the only ones in need of heavy fire power. The Helghast also posses an anti-tank missle launcher in their arsenal, although it is not as technologically capable nor user friendly as its enemy counterpart.  It's a bigger, bulkier, single-shot rocket with mean looking iron sights and slightly more blowback than the ISA weapon. Still, it gets the job done all the same, destroying anything in its path.

Field Manual Instructions (Campaign): The rocket-launcher is definitely a speciality weapon; don't lug it around expecting to kill tons of infantry because it only has room for three rockets. It's pretty much your only option for taking out vehicles, but if you do find yourself using one on personell, aim at the envrionment close to them; walls, floors, ceilings, etc. The blast radius is a decent enough size to kill them. Rockets are a tad slow, so stick to stationary targets unless you can lead well.

Field Manual Instructions (Online Play): Point, shoot, kaboom....Just make sure there are no teammates in the line of fire, please! This baby is perfect for taking down search and retrieve targets, or supressing key chokepoints on the battlefield. Fire at the floor, not the bodies.

 Sniper RifleSniper rifle

Helghast VC-32 Sniper Rifle

The sniper rifle is a trusty old favorite, but for many the SLAR wasn't fun to use in Killzone 1. GG has completely redesigned this long range rifle to be more user friendly, while still retaining some old qualities. The rifle features the same familiar Helghast bullpup/drum magazine combo, a slight orange tint over the scope's lense, and six rounds per clip. While carrying it from the waist, there is no crosshair or aiming reticule, making no-scoping a bit difficult. Instead of being semi-automatic, it is bolt action, much like the Liberation version, and delivers one hit kills. Looking through the scope allows you to choose two zoom settings, 2x or 5x. Your view includes not only your scope's line of sight and crosshairs, but also other parts of the rifle. In most other games, they show black areas around your view. Recoil is quite nasty on this powerful weapon!

Field Manual Instructions (Campaign): COMING AFTER RELEASE

Campaign Demonstration

Field Manual Instructions (Online Play): The first thing you'll notice when you get your hands on this deadly piece of weaponry is how wobbly the scope is; or at least, until you steady the controller in your hands, that is! Yes, the rifle scope utilizes Sixaxis motion detection as you aim, so a steady hand means a steady rifle. The system isn't working completely against you though; a good sniper will learn to utilize it to make slight adjustments. Master the Sixaxis motion and you'll have an edge on the battlefield. Other than that, the rifle is easy to use and kills in one hit for most classes.Yes, it isa bolt action with heavy recoil, but its not impossible to reaquire targets if you miss. Just try to pick 'em off on your first shot for ammo's sake. It is also brilliant for no-scopin; the bullet fire straight out of the barrel, every single time.

 Dubb is a complete n00b!!!!

Helghast M327 Grenade Launcher

For all those missing the underslung grenade launcher on the ISA M82, I give you the Helghast grenade launcher. This beast of a gun propels grenades at your opponent, and holds multiple 203s at a time so it doesn't need to reload after one shot. Expect a barrage of explosions if you catch an enemy wielding this weapon! Popularly called by the Killzone community the "Mine Gun," because of its ability to lay proximity mines as a secondary function, this nickname may be defunct as there is no alternative fire option in Killzone 2.

Field Manual Instructions (Campaign): COMING AFTER RELEASE

Campaign Demonstration (2:33)

Field Manual Instructions (Online Play): My oh my, how far the mine gun has fallen. The relatively quick fire rate is still there, but grenades aren't as lethal as the first game, and grenades don't explode on impact. Expect to shoot multiple nades and learn how to lead your target if you want to get some kills with this thing. Its good for putting supressive fire and a lot of pressure on specific targets, as well as cleaning bad guys out of nooks and crannies, but get ready to see a lot of assisted kills.

 Sta-3

Helghast StA-3 LMG

Yet another returning weapon from the first game, this light machine gun remains largely unchanged from Killzone 1, aside from looking much prettier and dare I say....shinier? It bears the hallmark signature of Stahl Arms: high ammo capacity, a pass on the modern look, and a monstrously delicious rate of fire. This is one MG that will make you hit the deck as soon as you hear the distinct sound of its bullets escaping the barrel. You have 100 rounds to work with before having to reload, so its ok to be liberal with this beast.

Field Manual Instructions (Campaign):COMING AFTER RELEASE

Campaign Demonstration (1:44)

Field Manual Instructions (Online):If you're that lowly rifleman looking for a weapon that'll really level the playing field, look no further than the StA-3, because this thing is the killer of men. The damage rate is good; it should take just 5-7 shots to mortally wound your enemy, and you can pop off twice as many shots as your foe within seconds. You can afford to dance around your enemy firing wildly for a few seconds, as long as you get a bead on them before they you. It's also an excellent supressive weapon because of its high ammo capacity. Reloads are very respectable, and much shorter than what you'd expect from a light machine gun; it uses an ammo drum, rather than a box and bullet belt. Of course, its heavier than your average assault rifle and also has much more recoil. The crosshairs are large, especially when walking and shooting at the same time. If you're shooting to kill, my advice is to crouch while firing. Pop off shots in bursts of 5; just one or two will be enough if your aim is good. If the target is partially concealed by cover or a bit further than medium distance, it may be too hard to hit them without you staying still. You'll be fine as long as you crouch, but don't try to hit anything long distance. Feel safe in breaking your chronic reloading; you have 100 rounds per ammo drum. Remember: Master the recoil, master the StA-3.

FIRE

Helghast VC1 Flamethrower

Fans and haters alike squealed in glee when a flamethrower was shown during the E3 2005 target trailer, but many were dissapointed with the lackluster weapon's appearance in Killzone: Liberation. Have no fears, for the flamethrower is back and hell-bent on proving its worth. This devestation firearm is popular amongst today's shooters, so once again Killzone 2 seeks to differentiate itself. In this game, its more of a napalm gun; it shoots a stream of gas that sticks to your enemy and lights it on fire in the process. Enjoy the stream of golden death, because your enemy won't.

Helghast VC21 Bolt Gun

The crossbow with explosive arrow tips was a fan favorite in Killzone: Liberation, and the VC21 Bolt Gun is its spiritual successor. The bolt gun is a modified construction tool that fires a large bolt at extremely high speeds with enough power to pierce an enemy and pin him to a wall. As if that wasn't enough, a few seconds after it pins its target, it explodes. Not too sure on how that helped get construction along. Nonetheless, this is a devestating, one hit kill weapon.

It's Electric!

Helghast VC5 Electricity Gun

The most devestating weapon in the entire Killzone 2 arsenal, and also the most sci-fi. Apparently, the Helghast have figured out how to package their Arc Cannon technology into a bite-sized personal weapon. Modified Heavies carry this beast, and once you pick one up for yourself you'll be nearly invincible. It looks a bit like a Helghast machinegun in terms of its barrel, and operates sort of like a traditional flamethrower. Basically, you hold the trigger on this bad  boy and a stream of high voltage electricity comes tearing out from the VC5 to completely obliterate all in its path. If you fire at a group of Higgs, the electricity will course between them and spread until everyone in the vicinity is dead. One shot, multiple kills. Enjoy the unlimited ammo as well.

                          MG FLANK IThgh mg

Helghast StA-3 Machine Gun Enplacement

Your standard machine gun emplacement, this weapon is ideal for wiping out all foes wh happen to be before you. It can rotate up and down and a bit less than 180 degrees, but don't try to turn it around and shoot an enemy behind you. This gun holds infinite ammo, but shoot too much and the barrel will begin to glow orange and then overheat. You must wait a cooldown moment before firing again, so short bursts are reccomended. It puts out fast and heavy fire, if a little inaccurate at long ranges. Basically, all the properties of a regular StA-3, just with a stronger defense. It has two turret shields on the sides to protect against some incoming fire. Some have noted similarties between this and the real life WW2 era German MG42.

Field Manual Instructions (Campaign): As far as emplaced machine guns go, you can't do any better. The fire rate is dazzling, the firepower shocking, and overheating is minimal. Indeed, you can pop off some pretty long bursts before the barrel goes orange to indicate an overheat, so let loose! Overwhelm the enemy positions by putting more rounds into the air, faster.Once you have a target, they'll be torn up in the line of fire. It also makes mincemeat out of the toughest of opponents, Heavies. Accuracy is also fairly good. Just be aware of your surroundings; if you get flanked by multiple Higgs, you can be downed pretty quickly. Any fire that comes from in front of you should hit the defensive plates.

Campaign Demonstration

Field Manual Instructions (Online Play): These puppies are strategically placed all around the map, but it's up to someone with the repair ability to fix it up for use. Once it's up and running, this thing will bring the heat. Anyone caught in your line of fire will be decimated in an instant, so it makes you a nightmare to any enemies directly in front of you. However, since this is an emplaced machine gun, your sides and especially your back will be especially vulnerable, and headshots from the front aren't uncommon either. If you stay on the gun for a long period of time, you'll become a sitting duck for the opposing team. If damaged enough, it can blow up, and kill you in the process.

Helghast StA-18 Pistol

The Helghast sidearm may not be as powerful as its ISA counterpart, but it does have the leg up in a few departments, namely, fire rate and ammo capacity. It holds infinite ammunition.

Field Manual Instructions (Online Play): Ahh, the good old StA-18. Become accustomed to it, as it'll be the weapon you use on your trek to unlocking the more powerful handgun, the M4 Revolver. Now this pistol may not be as lethal as its ISA counterpart, but it has the leg up in two areas--ammo capacity and rate of fire. This little guy can fire off quite a few rounds before reloading, and in quick succession. Get used to crouching, aiming at the upper body, and firing off 5-7 rounds before the guy drops, though. You can afford to miss a bit more than you can than with the M4.

 Frag Grenade

M194 Fragmentation Grenade

The standard frag grenades used by both ISA and Helghast forces. Pull the pin, throw, and watch your enemies scatta! If one is being thrown at you, beware; it has a decent blast radius and the flying shrapnel can go through light cover. You can indeed cook frag grenades; that is, pull the pin but hold onto the nade for a few more seconds, then throw it at your enemy so it explodes instantly and he has no chance to escape. The 5 LED lights indicating when the grenade will explode has returned from the first game! It seems that GG designed the grenade to be easily avoided; thrown grenades have a distinct trail and beep loudly before exploding. If you want to do more than just flush your enemies out from behind cover, I suggest you cook these guys for a few moments before you chuck them. If the wind is strong enough, it can carry your grenade and blow it somewhere you may not be happy with, so be wary.

Field Manual Instructions (Campaign): First things first, if you're looking for a kill, COOK! The Helghast aren't dumb; they see the yellow trail, flashing lights, and hear the beeps. They know you just lobbed a grenade their way and they will dive for cover, provided enough time, of course. Deprive them of those precious seconds by holding the grenade after holding the pin and throwing at the 3rd, 4th, or even 5th light, depending on your range. As your target becomes more far away, the aiming dot will become increasinly deceitful; at short ranges, use the dot as an indication of where the grenade will land. At medium to long range, aim the dot higher than your target or you'll just kick up some dirt. Blast radius isn't a nuclear explosion, but it'll do. Remember what I said earlier; if you simply want to flush the Helghast out, it'll definitely do the job.

Campaign Demonstration (2:08)

Field Manual Instructions (Online): Ah, the trusty old fragmemtation grenade. Remember, its not the explosion that kills you, its the deadly, flying shrapnel. Here are a few things that seperate this grenade from nades in other games; like all other Killzone weapons, there's a certain realistic weight to it so when you throw it, your head kind of bobs. If you try and act against the head bobbing and make drastic movements, your aim will be put off and you may end up sending it somewhere you didn't mean for it to go. Second, 5 LED lights flash as you cook it; 1 light on means 4 seconds to detonation, 2 lights means 3 seconds to go, etc...until all 5 lights flash and the grenade explodes. Very useful for our top chefs out there who can't be bothered keeping count in their head. I reccomend you cook if throwing directly at a target; otherwise, just lead the enemy. Third, it beeps, and fourth, there are grenade trails. This makes up for the lack of a HUD indicator. Now, grenades don't have the biggest blast radius; it pretty much has to land at your enemies feet to kill them. It definitely cuts down on people throwing them randomly and getting free kills. Your number one reason for using nades won't be to get a kill, but to flush an enemy out of a position, and it works wonderfully in that regard.

M32 Combat Knife

The combat knife is a staple of the FPS genre, and generally there are two kinds; the type that's assigned to a specific button and then the one you equip. Sadly, gone are the stylish animations that made the knife such a pleasure to use. Now, Sev must equip the knife and slash with it himself, using the fire button. It's still deadly, however, and sends blood flying when used.

Field Manual Instructions (Campaign): The knife in this game is most simlar to the Battlefield knife. Equip it by pressing the right button and Sev will automatically slash twice. After that, you use the fire button to cut your enemies up. 1 or 2 hits will knock the Higg down. Note; contrary to the Gamesradar video, you are NOT a god while weilding the knife; the AI won't hesitate at all to shoot you.

Look at the colors!

Respawn Smoke Grenades

In online multiplayer, the Tactican class's primary badge allows the player to throw a colored smoke grenades. They aren't there to alert teammates of your position or for show, however. They allow your teammates to spawn on them.

Field Manual Instructions (Campaign): NOT AVAILABLE IN CAMPAIGN MODE

Campaign Demonstration

Field Manual Instructions (Online Play): The tactician's spawn grenade can either make or break a game, depending on its use and location. First, the basics; Your team's spawn grenade will ALWAYS be green, and the enemy team's spawn nade will ALWAYS be red. It is NOT dependent on faction (ISA aren't green and Helghast aren't red). The grenade is tossed, not thrown, so don't expect to gain some huge tactical advantage my aiming it high to try and hurl it on top of a building. As soon as the smoke starts emitting, teammates can choose to start there on the respawn map. They will spawn OPPOSITE the direction you were facing when it was throw; use this knowledge to your advantage. Throw it against walls so that your mates will come into the game with their backs to it, instead of facing a slab of concrete. Especially remember this when placing near objectives. Now, to proper placing of the spawn. Far too often you see tacticians placing these in plain view of enemy nests and bases; this makes anyone spawning there easy prey to those already in the game. Sure, spawning DOES give you brief invsinciblity, but this is just to get your bearing. Try to place them ineasily defended rooms with 4 walls and a cieling. Be as discreet as possible! Placing them directly by say, a bomb site, may be effective if your team keeps the flow of reinforcements constant and overwhelming, but refrain from this most of the time.

SCATTA! C4!

C4 Explosive Charge

C4 is an explosive that can be stuck onto walls, ceiling, or just onto the floor and when activated explode, leaving a bloody mess wherever it detonates. Rather than being remote detonated, this is Proximity C4, so they explode when someone comes within range automatically, set-and-forget style.  Players with the secondary badge selected in online multiplayer will spawn with C4. They dissappear after the planter's death in online multiplayer.

Field Manual Instructions (Campaign): NOT AVAILABLE IN CAMPAIGN MODE

Campaign Demonstration

Field Manual Instructions (Online Play):If you have the Saboteur's second badge equipped, you can use C4. You are allowed 3 at a time, with a short "recharge" time after they explode. This is a proximity explosive;it will detonate when an enemy walks past it, set and forget, if you will.Don't throw it at the floor; for some reason, that usually causes a late detonation. Stick C4 to walls and cielings, and always in groups! 1 charge won't have a good chance of fatal injury, but2 or 3 bunched together will. Remember, its good to place it in places with high traffic, but the explosion CAN kill your teammates and you have little control over that, other than placement sobe smart in that regard. After a while, lights will flash from the C4. Green is for teammate C4, red is for enemy. However, this only happens after the explosive has been sitting for quite some time.

 HALP ME!

Medic Gun

No, what you're seeing is not a minature Arc Cannon that does the exact opposite of its bigger brother, it's the tool the Medic class uses to revive mortally wounded teammates in online multplayer. It sends an electric charge through the friendly's body to jolt him back to full health. You only have a few seconds to revive someone before they pass into the abyss that is the respawn screen so hop to it!

Field Manual Instructions (Campaign): Follow the indicator, press the button, heal your mate. What else can I say? When you press the button, you'll bring out the medic gun and zap your friend automatically, with no interuptions. You'll be free to move around though; a heavy aim-lock will make sure yourzap hits your ally every time. Its reserved for important characters, like squad-mates. Sorry ISA grunts, you're just not worth it.

Campaign Demonstration

Field Manual Instructions (Online): The medic tool is loved by some, hated by others. It can be used to zap mortally wounded characters back to life, but the revive animation is a bit on the lengthy side and it can leave the revived player facing in a direction with his back to the action. Often times, bad medics revive players without even checking to see if the enemy who killed said player in the first place. So remember folks, unless the killer is dead or has left the area, DON'T REVIVE. Bad medics are some of the worst thing in Killzone 2, and the worst things in Killzone 2 get teamkilled.

Medic Health Pack

Killzone 2 goes retro for its multiplayer, opting for the Killzone 1 system of a health bar with partial regeneration. And with any HP bar, you need health packs! Thankfully, medics supply just that.

Field Manual Instructions (Campaign): NOT AVAILABLE IN CAMPAIGN MODE

Campaign Demonstration

Field Manual Instructions (Online Play): The medic's secondary badge allows the player to dole out fully regenerative health packs, which can go a long way in lengthening the life of a soldier. The player must equip the appropriate badge, and then pull out the blood bag manually. You are then allowed to toss it at someone, the wall, or the ground with the fire button. Once dispensed, they flash to catch your teammate's attention and to be easily found on the battlefield. The recharge for this ability is very short, so don't be stingy with the packs. GG obviously designed the blood bag to be used primarily for healing others, because when you throw it, it tends to go far and bounce off walls and slide on the ground. To heal yourself quickly and efficiently, get close to a wall or a corner and throw it so it ricochets and goes straight to you. Healing is generally regarded as more helpful than reviving. A commonly asked question is: If I have the Assault class equipped and use a health pack, will my armor heal up as well? The answer is no, that would be silly.

ISA  HGH

Sentry Turret

The automated turret is a weapon controlled by computer AI shoots any enemies within range with machine gun fire. Once planted, it stays on the spot until it is destroyed. Though the turrets from each faction look cosmetically different, they function in the exact same way (ISA turret pictured left, Helghast turret pictured right). Only engineers with the primary badge equipped can build turrets.

Field Manual Instructions (Campaign): NOT AVAILABLE IN CAMPAIGN MODE

Campaign Demonstration

Field Manual Instructions (Online Play): The automated sentry turret is the ultimate set and forget weapon. It stays right where you deploy it and shoots at anything within range. It isn't deadly if the enemy notices it right away and can be easily destroyed once targeted, but if the player's back is turned or multiple turrets are shooting him at once, the results can be fatal. It is reccomended that you set up multiple turrets in a small area in (eg, in the corners of a small room) you're seeking kills. They are also path blockers, making it hard to bypass them if placed in a narrow corridor. Referain from blocking halls and doorways frequently used by your own team, but feel free to barricade yourself in during Assasination or set up a strong defense in Search and Destroy/Search and Retrieve. The biggest downside is the recharge time; its pretty long. Your best bet for multiple turrets in one vicinity is to either suicide and plant another, or have an ally engineer place one near yours. It also fires rockets at enemy flying sentry bots.

Flying Sentry Bot

The sentry bot from Killzone 1 has returned and is better than ever! In online multiplayer, it flys around the map seeking and destroying enemies with its machine gun cannons. It remians above the playing field until destroyed. Think the Helicopter from Call of Duty 4. Though the bots from each faction look cosmetically different, they both function in the exact same way (ISA bot pictured left, Helghast bot pictured right). All players with the Tactician secondary badge selected in online multiplayer may call in the sentry bot for air support.

Field Manual Instructions (Campaign): NOT AVAILABLE AS A PLAYER USED TOOL IN CAMPAIGN MODE

Campaign Demonstration

Field Manual Instructions (Online Play): Once you've unlocked the tactician's secondary badge, you can call in your own personal, mini-ATAC air support in the form of flying sentry bots. Now, before I said that this was similar to Call of Duty's Helicopter, but it is also very different. First off, multiple can be on one map, from both teams. Second, they don't seek out enemies all across the map, and third, they don't have homing bullets and god-like, impossible AI. Quite the opposite, actually. Here's how it works: The person with the tactician's secondary badge is able to toss out a metal container or beacon of sort. A flying sentry bot will appear over that area momentarily and stay there, shooting at enemies below until it is destroyed. Unless the target is standing still (eg, planting an SnD charge, repairing an MG or ammo crate, or deploying a stationary turret) it is unlikely that the bot will actually get a kill. It is reccomended that you send these over a hotly contested area, because enemies will be too busy to take the machine down. Even if it isn't a great killing machine, when it fires down at something you at least know that there is danger close by, and it can even help you pinpoint the source. Four shots from the revolver will destroy this thing, so don't expect for them to be up the entire match.

There should be a flamethrower, but people really couldn't get a good picture of it from the '05 trailor.  Aside from that, I think you got about everything there was to show.

I'm trying to only include the weapon we've seen from actual gameplay, which is why the flamethrower isn't there.

I hope they reveal the sniper rifle(s) soon...

Has anyone noticed that they took the St14 and St11 off of the wepaons section on killzone.com?

They did? Lucky for me I put it on my ps2 before then.

You should include that rocket launcher used in gameplay. It's not confirmed on what faction the gun is from but there was concept art with a new Helghast trooper type carrying it.

Edit: You did throw it in there >.>

I ment the one in the second picture but I see that it's in there. In EGM there's concept art of a HGH soldier carrying it. So I"m guessing it's of Helghast origin....besides.. it just looks Helghasty.

Yeah it does look Helghasty but Sev picks it up from a dead ISA soldier on the beach, remember?

Concept art is just that--concept.

Something that bugs me is that in the KZL weapon selection screen, it says that its a Helghast weapon(damn traitor Stratson even used it), yet now killzone.com has it as an ISA gun.

So? We found Helghast with crossbows and shotguns in the other killzones. The ISA soldier could've got that weapon anywhere...

Yeah  I remeber that too. In the demo it was also listed as differently plus it had the Tyrant. <3.
